Icons on new forum

I may be a bit thick here (yeah yeah i know :smiley: ) :blush:

But is there anywhere that tells me what the icons on the left of each post mean.

I realise that they are to do with new posting, moved to, heavy use, etc but which is which?

Also some have a star and some dont, different colours etc.

Please enlighten me :blush:

I’m not 100% sure about this but I would take a guess:

  • Black icons are for threads with no new posts.

  • Red icons are for threads with new posts.

  • Icons with a star on are threads that you’ve posted in.

  • Icons with a lock in them are locked threads.

  • Icons shaped a bit like an exclamation mark and with an exclamation mark in them are for sticky threads that are not locked.

  • Icons shaped a bit like an exclamation mark with the exclamation mark and a lock are sticky threads that are locked.

sorry to hijack the thread, but does anyone know why some moderators have their names in green (like coffeeholic and repton) and some have their names in red

cos some don’t know when to stop :question:

and others know when to let things go :exclamation:

The names in red are for Site Admin and the names in green are Moderators

From another BB3 forum - I think the ones for this site are the same…

= Sticky unread
= Sticky unread, and you’ve posted in this topic
= Topic Read, and you’ve posted in this topic
= Topic Unread
= Hot Topic Unread

Basically, if its red - its unread, there’s new content
If there’s a * on it, you have posted in that thread at some point
If its a lighbulb shape, its stickied.
