I’m sure there is also a ferry that goes from one of the Scottish islands google blue water shipping they do Iceland

Ferry used to at Scrabster a few years ago . I think it only goes via the Faroes now.
Anyone seen any Faroes/Icelandic hauliers in the UK?

I looked at getting the ferry there a couple of years ago. The fare was enough to make my eyes water, huge! And the most complicated timetable I’ve ever seen!

Cheers lads for the replays

I’ll give that a miss then and give that run to someone else

My uncle and aunt in their late 80’s, did the trip in their pickup camper a couple of years ago :sunglasses:
Sounded like an amazing trip.

Yeah, but I’m sure it would have been worth it… Just look at how much fun you could have had whilst refuelling in Reykjavik!! Definitely a place I’d like to visit…!! A British funfair went there around 2003-2004 and caught the boat from Scotland but I don’t think they went back again due to the shipping costs…

Spoke to mate he said Taylor’s of ■■■■■■■ when to Iceland to do a fair

Yes, that’s right… They may have been more than once actually but I’m not sure.
They did the fair in Gibraltar as well a few years ago but I don’t know if they still have that one now.

Boat goes there from Immingham, buggered if I can remeber the name now though…

I’ve never seen an Icelandic registered truck or trailer but did once see an Icelandic car in the UK.

I’ll looking to that one cheers

Iceland_service_2012.jpg

As far as I’m aware the Samskip ships sailing from Immingham are all containerships with no ro/ro capability. I used to be very involved with shipping out of the Humber and dont recall any ro/ro service going to Iceland, at least not directly.

astrans cargo own a freight forwarding co in iceland i forget the name but its on there web site. Some time ago me and grayham one of the subbies looked at buying some trucks there cheap stock but the only way was ro ro to immingham there was no accompanied service and the boat was expensive out weighing the savings on the trucks astrans can provide access to this ro ro service if that helps
