Ice Road Trucker's Truck now in the UK

When Ice Road Truckers no longer needed one of the trucks which had been appearing in the hit TV series for more than eight years, Frome man Graham ‘Spud’ Taylor stepped in and bought it.

Spud was on a working holiday on the Canadian film set when they were getting rid of the 1969 Peterbilt lorry so he decided to buy the lorry and bring it back to Frome.

The lorry has 2.3 million miles on the clock, does five miles to the gallon and costs 1500 quid to fuel up.

1969 ,thats never 45yrs old surely   :unamused: :unamused:

Nice story but its not true. The man from Frome bought that from Tony (ex Leggett driver) in Colchester.Tony went to the States & bought it from an owner driver ,got it registered in Chelmsford,& played with it for a few years ,I think he sold it to Graham in Colchester last year? If you look at the front bumper on the left there is a row of number plates that hide a crack in the metal where a commie bloc rig spun round in front of Tonys bungalow & ripped the bumper off & kept on going.
I posted snaps of this motor on here years ago.
Its American reg.
Gray has added the Guy Injun on the rad and the Oz stickers on the bumper.
Still a nice motor,tho.’
Hope this puts things straight?

Is that the one which used to be parked up near Friday Woods, Harry?

That’s the one. I did a photo shoot for Tony. I got the snaps somewhere.Tony flogged it and got himself a Range Rover. You know how narrow that road is and a sat nav commie spun an artic round there! :open_mouth:

Yeah,Tony said the bloke who bought it was alright and well into his trucks!

The trucks from Carlisle transport in IRT are Kenworths. Not peterbilts.
