Ice road truckers.is it all over?

well i wonder if its all over now ,since hugh (polar bear) has been seriously injured in a pickup accident driven by one of the shows producers.
The lawsuit says the producer/was driving recklessly when he lost control and crashed into trees and bushes
he claims to have suffered severe and permanement injuries and cannot return to his own trucking company.
His wife is also claims she is also injured saying his injuries have deprived her of love, companionship and the enjoyment of ■■■■■■ relations,
i was carefull to write it down the way it appears on the court papers…
i wonder if he could take a course of mycoxafloppin and would that help.

Good, perhaps he’ll stop Wrecking Vehicles with his Gay Bear Mate & just keep shrugging their shoulders.
Wasn’t that why they got kicked off the Dalton a couple of years ago !

YEEE HAAA COWBOYS !

Not sure how much was down to editing but if I owned a truck neither him or Rik would ever get to drive it. I know some of the roads can be harsh on a vehicle, but seeing drivers treat them so recklessly just annoys me.

Drivers more like Drovers

In the more recent series where they are in Canada, Hugh’s running things himself (having been sacked from everywhere else). He agreed a deal with the shows creators that for the privilege of filming him, Rick etc. they would pay for all the repair work on the vehicles during the course of the season. So he got crap motors, used and abused them & probably made a fair few bob for himself. Fair play.

You mean his missus actually enjoyed `avin rumpy with that blob? Takes all sorts, I guess.
Bet the guy was a superlative gymnast in the bedroom. :open_mouth:

The series that is running on Channel 5 at the moment is clips of repeats from different years. Eddie.

the last couple of series have been terrible, after they left the Dalton in went completely down the pan

I gave up watching it after the first series. When TF was that?
Unfortunately the producers of such things all fall into the same trap and it ends up being the same bloody price as Stobrats trucks & trailers, ie,
its all “bigged up” Bull shine.
Got no time for any of it. Its crap.

Hugh never got the hang of how long the trailers were when it came to the bends. I’m finished driving so for me its all OK,but when I was working I avoided the diesel fumes on TV.

The King a proper ice road trucker ,who has featured on the latest one
no bull or drama here

Is that why he’s called the king?

Rather watch ice divers any day.

Denisons Ice Road by Edith Igauer. If you want to know the real deal about the Ice Roads, read this book.

On the internet you can find all kinds of films that involve diving, my favourites are the ones with an all girl cast

I best get the old drag act going then. Might pump up my numbers. The beard stays though, so it’ll probably be a bit Kenny Everett. Without his genius. Or comedy. Or enjoyment.

Luke, you should do the Ice Road.Drill a hole in the ice and catch fish for supper. Then a video on how to cook it.

A truck driver from the UK died chasing his dream of driving the Dalton I read in the papers last week. If I remember he went of the ice road and down a ditch. He was due to go home a week later to spend it with his wife and kid only never to walk through the door and see his wife and kids happy faces.
The lads that live and work over there year in year out said it’s nothing like what you see on the tv and drivers falsely go over there with blinkered ideas and hopes and don’t realise that 17 hour shifts of constant driving are the norm.

The bloke that died was from H&R transport doing their double man run from Edmonton to Whitehorse. It isn’t ice road trucking at all, there’s plenty of snow about, but it is nothing like the winter roads.

My firm has just taken on a bloke who worked at Polar, he tells me that with all the messing about filming Hugh and all that lot take a full week to do a one way trip up north, whereas all the ‘proper’ drivers are doing two round trips a week.

Most of what you see on tv is set up for the camera and it’s about as realistic as Eastenders.
