I really am thick sometimes (with pics)

Here’s the story,
Got back to Guildford from York this evening, dropped my trailer in a customers yard and then had instructions to go to Woking and pick up another one that has been loaded for Sheffield for delivery tomorrow first thing.

So I arrive and was greeted by this

Bit of a joker is my mate Andy who was the one i found out dropped it there.
It’s like a little one way system and there is a gate at the other end so i assumed it was driven in and then he pulled the pin at an angle and drove off.

I then tried to push the gate back further but it was the furthest it would go. After scratching my head a bit and assessing the situation, I carried on.

I had a look around and I knew it was going to be tight getting out if at all possible but luckily the wall ends before the rear of the trailer so I knew the tail would clear it.
After a bit of ■■■■■■■ around jumping out to check I was on the money with the pin and checking how close my lights were getting to the wall etc I managed to finally get on the pin.
I had to keep taking my shoes off (didn’t want a dirty carpet), walk across the engine hump and getting out the passenger door as the gate was right beside me. There was alot of faffing about.

I wound up the legs and moved it on the shunt button so it would be easier to connect the suzies straight, rather at an angle.
It was tight getting out and only just missed the gate with the neck of the trailer.

“What a joker you are Andy” I thought to myself. And pretty pleased with my efforts I turned to my phone and thought I would let him know how funny he was and sent him a pic of my successful hitch up and that he failed in getting me wound up.

And this was the brief conversation.

   what a absolute ■■■■■, I really am!!! So angry with the stupidity of myself!!

That’s a classic mate

LMAO! In fairness I’d probably have done the same as you  although it would’ve involved a lot of swearing and cursing, and then some more of the same to the office about the [zb] who’d put it there. Even with the gate the other way, it’s still quite a tight fit with it being that close to the wall, or at least that’s how it looks in the pic. Unless you’ve got a Magnum it’s an absolute [zb] getting in and out of a unit when you can’t open the door fully. It usually involves getting muck from your boots on the bottom of your trousers and a bruised right knee and hip as you drag yourself past the door storage compartment.

Great looking lorry
