Did you see the election program on BBC this morning?
Mr Blair on his way fromSedgefield to London - flew down then was drove from Luton airort into London.
He was going along the emty Motorway - in the “fast” overtaking lane. Not even a middle lane driver - but the third and sometimes even ourth lane. Nothing else n the Motor way. On the odd occasion when another vehicle could be seen - the car went flying past it. - suggesting that speed limits were also not being kept to…
And all being followed by a camera crew in ahelecoter - and probably apolice one as well !!!
No wonder the roads are in the mess they are in if this is the only way he ever travells…
Oh for goodness sake OD surely you dont begrudge this O’Mighty Leader some fringe Benefits for his excellent services to the Citizens of the UK
There are Much More important things to life than worrying about than the Prime Ministers Car driving down the Motorway, Terrorists could be hiding anywhere along the hedgerows of the Motorway, Justice for Fathers protestors could be getting ready to pounce by mounting an absailing event off a Motorway flyover at any minute, there are a million reasons for the security of this country that have to be considered, hence the reason he should be allowed to be driven in a car with disregard for speed limits, who on earth are we to criticise these actions, we are only mere mortals.
Just think of the great inconsideration that would have been caused to all the UK’s voters if a Terrorist was to strike, a massive amount of people took out the time to go and vote against labour (Even if it wasn’t enough to stop him getting back in) how do you think they would of felt if their vote was all in vain
Just in case anyone aint realised yet I’m being sarcastic It would be a great publicity coo if The Chief of Police ordered the drivers of the cars to be prosecuted along with Blair in the same fashion that he was a few weeks back when his car was stopped for speeding at 70 mph in a 40 mph limit More so if they were also reprimanded for hogging the outside lane
I watched Blair leaving his home to get to Aycliffe for the result of the Ballot, about 6 or 7 cars and they did not appear to be sticking to the speed limits either.
Perhaps an idea would be to keep a video of the cars on the motorway and then next time you get stopped for speeding, produce it as evidence that if it’s okay for one then its okay for another, any good specialist would be able to say what the speeds of the cars were by the distance covered in a few seconds.
Don’t get me wrong, i’m no fan of his but those decisions/actions are taken by his CP Team (Close Protection) who are responsible for getting him from A to B whilst exposing him to the minimum amount of risk possible.
Think of all those times that we all harp on about how we are ‘professional’ drivers (and quite rightly so), well so are his CP Team and, I dare say, a lot more professional than almost any of us.
I can imagine that with the bombs that went off in USA, security was a bit ‘twitchy’ to say the least.
Who do you think he’s cheesed off more; Al Queda of the transport industry??
Owner Drivers:
so is he less at risk driving in the third lane - especially when the other lanes were empty - making it obvious who it was■■?
At that time of day lane 3 would be more likely to remain empty or vehicles would move left on seeing the blue lights. Lanes 1 and 2 would be more likely to have traffic in them, especially lane 1, which would mean the convoy would be constantly weaving from lane to lane.
Owner Drivers:
Is it less risky to drive at high speed
At that time of day, with those volumes of traffic and with a very highly trained driver there would be no more risk than at any other speed really.

so is he less at risk driving in the third lane - especially when the other lanes were empty - making it obvious who it was■■?
A roadside IED (bomb) of any description is easier placed on the hard shoulder than the central reservation. Modern history tells us so (unfortunately)
One could argue the special branch ossifer assigned to drive a high-risk target like TB is simply working within the rights allowed under reasonable execution of duty.
why is everyone getting uptight about this.In this day & age security is of the highest importance, and that applies to whom ever is PM,whether that be Blair or Herr Howard.
I think he should abide by the laws that the rest of us have to, that includes his entourage. Do they not know what lane they are supposed to be in? Surely it would have been quicker to fly him into London City airport, and much less fuss? Nevermind pink landrovers, perhaps when some of his cabinet members like Mandy and Darly are being transported about they should have pink flashing lights There are enough ■■■■ in this government, maybe they should also be subject to 80% duty
Nothing but a bunch of wussy PC liberal doogooders.
