,an wots wrong with vauxhalls,i swear by them.

Hear hear, me too :sunglasses:

Stu swearing by which bobbert does, and swearing AT which is what you do, are two different things entirely

Has your Vectras engine given up yet? Thought it was on the way out a while back mate??

ROG:

12 month ban and a resit of my car test(extended test)

I was reliably informed that the retest does not have to be done in a car - it can be done in any licence catagory that you held - might be worth checking on that if you want to retest in something other than a car - my ‘reliable’ source could be wrong…

I think the TC is more likely to get involved if the excessive speed was done in a LGV - say doing 56 in a 30 zone…

Watch out for the DVLA if you do a car retest - I think you may have to fill out a D2 form to get any other licences back

IF you have to take your test again, why not see if you can do so in an artic & kill al the birds with one stone. I know that years ago, people wre taking their class 1 & gaining their car entitlement at the same time. It’s bad enough but it’ll save you taking two tests.

I’ve a mate who simply can’t drive within the speed limits, he’d do well to read this thread.

time really going in,just 3 month left now, cant wait.

what have you beeen doing during them time waiting?

driving a fork lift at a sawmill in dunkeld,so if any jenkinson drivers read this, say hi next time your in

Got a six year old Vauxhall Vectra GSi 3.2 V6 (probably why I got banned) :unamused: with 75,000 miles on the clock, £14k from new and the only things that have gone on it were the two front suspension springs.

With regard to your impending return to the fold, remember that the Danerous will stay on you licence for 5 years and no one will give you a driving job with that unless you’re mates with them and you offer to pay the extra grand or two it will cost them to insure the wagon. You could always get your own wagon like I have which will negate the need to grovel, although the profitability of that is a whole different kettle of fish. Also my car insurance went up from £600 to £1,000.

rite, just had the d27p form to get my licence back, now theres no mention on it about me having to resit my test, the question am asking is,should it not be the form to get my provisional so i can sit ma test again?

just send it off and see what comes back…you might just be luckey

bobbert_bear:
well i had 6 omegas,an a vectra an had no major probs with any of them,so would have another any day of the week

If Vauxhalls are that good why do you need so many of them?

Back when I was 18 (8 years ago) I had a Nova GTE of which my mate gave to me (it was a birthday present for him but he couldnt get insurance) yes it was a tin can  but on the otherhand the engine was solid, I never had a fault with it. At 19 I had a calibra this also had a good engine, but then at 21 I left vxl’s for the Japs of Toyota Mr2 Turbo and Scoobys but I never forgot the Vxl’s

Thats my ten pence life story :grimacing:

i didnt have them all at the same time, just kept upgrading as a better one came along

hey guys, just an updae, sent the d27p form back, and today thru the post comes a d4 form, got ma medical next fri at 8.40 am and a week after that am allowed to drive again, how cool is that.

Nice one bobbert. hopefully you’ll be back on the road soon.
being a bike rider i know how hard it is to keep in the limits.

Love to take him out for an observed run in a driving school car fitted with dual controls

They do tend to wonder what’s happening when they’re attempting to speed but I’m determined they’re not going to & I have a brake pedal at my side.

I lost my licence when I was 19 for for a while — came round a bend too fast and hit a white Ford ■■■■■■ up the [zb]

The blue light came clean off his roof …

I read a piece by Jeremy Clarkson ,he calls the A9 the Englishmans toll road. Why not modern limits for modern vehicles.

Coz we dont have the drivers with modern skills and modern mentality to go with the modern vehicle, it aint the ■■■■■■ 60’s, twice the population and twice the danger with half the driving skill and half the brain cells :open_mouth:

Yeah because this whole thread has been about picking up a 12 month ban in Canada :stuck_out_tongue: :unamused:
