I can't believe this guy?

All those years driving and having to use his hand on the trailer brake to stop and he complains because his medical took his CDL away ■■?
It’s a post on operation 18 site. If this guy was in the UK he couldn’t even hold a full car licence, he say’s he is driving using just his left leg WTF
Just shows how dangerous the safety laws are in this country.

Dam DOT physicals.Thats right Dam,Dam,Dam you.And for all you DOT inspectors out there, and I know you are.F***,you

After 32 yrs. of OTR driving and over 5million miles of safe driving.(from the state of OHIO award).I was diagnosed with MS when I was 35.I had to drive using my trailer brakes to come to a stop.I couln,t get foot off the gas pedal and raise my leg up to apply the brake. My neuroligist told me this day would come. When I went for my 2yr. physical the doc had me jog in place, when I did I fell over on the floor.Scared the hell out of doc and ■■■■■■ me off.Oh,well now I,m drawing total ss disability.I have to use my left leg to drive my car, can,t drive my Harley any more either.Miss all the places iv,e been and especially all the drivers I met, scenery, good talk and believe I liked the food at truck stops to.But for now all I have is this site to go to when I,m feeling depressed.Great site. And for all you truck drivers out there,God bless you one and all.My favorite quote from Red Skelton.

Yet I doubt I’d pass a US medical as I’m prone to suffer from white coat syndrome (false high blood pressure). This was found out on my Canadian immigration medical that my blood pressure was supposedly sky high and I had to attend all sorts of specialists only to be told there was absolutely nothing wrong with me and that it was purely anxiety about not liking the feeling of having my arm squeezed etc. Well I could have bloody well told them that! I asked for written confirmation of their diagnosis as I didn’t want this to be a problem every five years on my medical and the specialist wouldn’t give it to me and simply said “So what, if you fail just go on medication” to which I said “You’ve said there is nothing wrong with me, why would I polute my body with unnecesary medication?” he wouldn’t answer that one. Since then I’ve passed many blood pressure tests with flying colours but as soon as I worry about it, it shoots up and I believe in the US they want a perfect 120/80 (or 90) and if you fail to achieve that you have to go on meds. What a bloody joke. In the UK my doctor told me they wouldn’t fail you on a medical for anything under 160 and would only consider medication at that point.

Thats quite a common issue mate, I have always had good blood pressure but last time at the docs I was told it went up a bit, a few minutes later the doc himself took it and said it had gone down, he mentioned ‘white coat syndrome’. I think the physical here is far too soft, I know drivers here who can hardly walk or stand, I know drivers who have to inject insulin which is not permitted in the UK.

Its quite bizzare that you could quite easily fail a medical in the US for having a blood pressure of 121/80 which to everybody else in the world would be the perfect example of a healthy adult, yet at the same time you see some horrendous looking efforts driving trucks in the US (and Canada for that matter) who surely must have far more wrong with them than one degree of a blood pressure reading.

What was the general opinion of his situation from other posters?

what an ar@e should be taken off the road all together

There is one guy I see regularly in Domino’s picking up trailers, he must go an easy 30-35 stones or more, it takes him at least a minute just getting behind the wheel. In the UK he would never be allowed to drive.

Does that mean I can get back on the pancakes lmaoo

While I do feel sorry for this guy as its obviously a job he loves and it would be a terrible blow for that to be taken away from anyone in that position, I am having some difficulty imagening him driving a truck and only using the spike to stop or slow down. What about when its icey or better still, he’s bobtailing?!?!
