HST (humber sea terminal)

So any one venturing to europe through here since saturday or most of this week… well you see all those new car’s and van’s etc that you see fighting with self drive’s (that’s you lot who drive your own trucks’ on to the boat) and tug driver’s who own the place (yes, they do, the only place we have priority over them is when there at a give way sign :open_mouth: ), i’m now there most of the time as part of the discharging team takeing the new motor’s off.

so if you see a early 20’s lad driving a new unregesered vehicle looking ■■■■ scared, that’ll be me…

It’ll keep you fit

I sat watching them in the ■■■■■■■ down rain loading the Cuxhaven tub thinking “[zb] that for a lark”     3 or 4 of em nearly got squashed by the tugs :grimacing:

don’t get me wrong, it’s a bit scary at time’s putting all your faith in to a bloke you’ve never met marshalling you back, even more so when you’ve got a double stack of container’s in the other lane passing you and you know if it goes over, your ■■■■■■. but still i’m on my 3rd shift and i’m enjoying it a lot.

Ive done that job in Southampton, one off the easiest jobs ive done.

t’was hoping you were on the forum, think i saw you 3 time’s over the past 2 day’s, 1st was yesterday pulling a lkw walter trailer at about 4.30 waiting to leave the terminal,
and today twice, mid morning going in with a tank on and coming out with a tank on just after 12.30, did flash, was in a “13” plate merc car.

as for getting out of your way, not guilty as for the past 2 day’s i’ve been in PDI’s, and we’ve all been warned on dicharge (unloading off the boat’s) about self drive’s (you driving the truck) running the light’s on the main causeway, all traffic comming up the ramp from the birth on the left, has priority to all other traffic, the yellow road sign’s on the causeway has level crossing light’s on it that start when we climb the ramp leading up to the causeway. it ain’t funny watching a double stack of tank-tainer’s have to a hill start…

We came in there Thursday morning, off the H.v.H. Stena ferry (quite often do).
I’ll be shipping back out the same way on Sunday as well

bugger, in tommorow on discharge and the same again on monday, but not sunday…

Ah well, another time maybe. We ship in and out most weeks through HST. Out Sunday afternoon, in Thursday morning, provided things go more or less to plan.
