Howard Tenens

I know that this company are still going strong and can remember them having a large fleet at the Swindon depot in the 1970s/early 80s,mainly Leyland Chieftans ? and day cab Marathons. I think they also had depots at Wellesbourne and Darlaston and done euro work.
I think that the bulk of their work at the time, was for the automotive industry. Anyway, the reason for my ramblings is because when I dropped the lorry of for an inspection yesterday afternoon ,there was a really nice Bmc dropside lorry in the workshop(sorry no pics)
It was on a D reg, maybe a 10 tonner and was sign written Howard Tenens, export packers and case makers, in a cream and maroon colour scheme.
Just wondered how far back they go ?
Edit Chieftans were made by Albion , must have been Mastiffs.

They were delivering ‘Gold seal’ BMC engines to our dealership back in the 60’s. One broke down and was placed in the Police pound overnight for safety reasons incase of theft, next day several engines were missing!

Pete.
