after a quick google i’ve found a firm in cabus, preston “howard international transport”. no listing at companies house, no website, and no sign of a haulage yard in the area.
i think i know every haulier in that area, and i’ve never heard of them before today.
There is E Howard at Burnley, fridges and tippers. Red Scania tag units
Think you’ll find it’s a new venture & it’s Northampton way.
I’d have to say I smell something bad about it.
thanks for your help boys, i have the same feeling, i asked a few questions and it seems to be a owner driver, hhe was offering 4k round trip to the south of spain, i have to pay for ferrys and tolls,
i only have 3 trucks myself and we run to Belgium,holland,france,germany. austria and italy but never done spain, i thought the spain runs where around 5k for a round trip, maybe im wrong as ive never done spain but if the right companie is offering the correct money i would like to give it a go.

I know one company paying
£3000 valencia roundtrip pay your own ferries etc
Easternblocks doing it No where newr enough money
I would be looking at 4500 plus now for roundtrip
Not sure WHERE some of you people dream up your rates from, ridiculous :evil

Funny. You have as much chance of getting 5k for a round trip to Spain as I have of discovering oil while digging my garden.

never met the feller all done via phone. I used to run to portugal with lambs from wales
i had a gold coulourd magnam, only did a couple of trips as was inbetween jobs at that time.
As far as i know he ran out of cabus/garstang area but i thought he moved to france later.
I have lost all contact with the said person but used to subbie for Eardleys at the time.
Could be the same person ?
The dealings i had with him personaly had no probs.
Wouldent mind getting in touch with him if same bloke if anyone gets a no.

The problem is still that Slobodan & his mate in their 12 year old Scania 124 are all ready at it and making money @ £3,000 a trip. I had an importer trying to talk me into putting 2 or 3 trucks on for him a couple of years ago & was offering me ’ really big money’ to cover some of his freight (ex eastern Spain to North West UK) but there just wasn’t enought southbound freight to make it worthwhile. The rates I was being offered for UK-Spain loads had to be seen to be believed, all paying less than I’d been getting in the mid 90’s so I simply didn’t bother, it’s easy to be a ‘busy fool’ in interntional haulage.
He had, & still does use local firms and anyone who’s had anything to do with Spanish hauliers will know exactly why he wanted to have some of his more important loads covered by someone who wouldn’t lie to him about exactly where his freight is, and actually keep his promises about collection & delivery dates & times!!
