How to create a photo DVD with a menu screen

I’m after a bit of help with making a dvd to show off our wedding photos but with a menu to “control” the disc. So it works likes so…

Put disc into dvd player and a menu loads up. Select a slide show to watch such as first dance or ceremony. The disc will play the photos with the background music then return to the menu so you can select the next slideshow to watch.

I’m also wanting to create sub menus such as the Ceremony menu will show another menu of: Entering/During/Leaving. Selecting these will then play that slideshow with music then return to the menu.

The programs I have on my computer are: Windows Movie Maker (this will make the slideshow with music), Powerpoint 2007, Nero and Roxio Easy Media Creator 7. Powerpoint will make the menus and I can show the videos from Windows Movie Maker on a slide but it’s getting everything together in a file/program that will burn to a dvd that the dvd player will play as it won’t play a powerpoint.

Any help is appreiciated and I think I can make it with the programs I have already as I’d rather not spend anything unless there is a very good program available from pc world etc that I can easily return if it doesn’t work out.

Thanks
Mark.

Don’t bother with PC World. Bunch of [zb]s who generally know [zb] all.

For £20 this might suit you Ashampoo Movie Menu You can download a trial version first, see if it will do what you want, then get the full version.
