hi guys what’s the best route to avoid m6 j13 to j14 ,travelling from oldbury to Liverpool, 16ft trailer cheers
Alternative route get off the M5 at the M54 until the A41 drive past A518 next roundabout follow the A519 (rural town but truck friendly) and then you rejoin M5 at jct 15 also you can also just follow the A41 all the way down

The obvious but…
If the M6 was shut, rammed full of everyone else going through Stafford and back on at 14. Depending on what you’re trying to avoid I find unless it’s an all morning/afternoon/police incident/road re-building shut down, if it’s moving, you might as well shuffle through with everyone else on the motorway itself.
Thing about avoiding jams is whether the effort and (if you choose a really wide diversion) is worth it? I wouldn’t divert 30/40 miles to save five minutes. It’s always a bit of a gamble. It’s great when it pays off though. Driving home in your car watching two others who left at the same time behind you, roar past you still heading towards the yard.
