How times are different now

It’s forbidden to call the name of this little fellow.

Political correctness. Aye, right, when we were children all Robertsons products had a golliwog mascot on the label. It wasn’t offensive to anybody and in my book it still isn’t.

I completely agree, dropping the Robertson’s golliwog was political correctness gone mad as was cancelling the black and white mistral show

The true story of the product was that Mr Robertson saw some children playing with a homemade doll that was black, that’s not racist, the children actually called a a Dollwog and for some reason he misheard the name but used Gollywog to promote his products.

This was over 100 years ago.

A few years ago the owners of a pub refused to take their Golly down and several police cars arrived as someone objected to them on display.

The world’s gone crazy. I refuse to buy Cheer cheese, the original name, ■■■■■ comes from the name of the man who developed the particular process of making the type of chees.

Some years ago we had a mob pushing to rename the Black stand at a country football club. The stand had been named to honour a founding member and ardent supporter of the club.

The comedian Jim Davidson can’t say Chalky anymore, the local council’s try to stop the comedian doing a show at the theatres nationwide and it’s the same for Roy Chubby Brown, as Lance Corporal Jones said in Dad’s Army , they don’t like it up ‘em!

Black and white TV (sorry television ) or coloured television , messed up world.
