Im working nights for the extra pay.If the pay was the same,I would prefer days.You should be paid more for nights because when you have 2 days off,the first day is wasted,you sleep half the day,then you go through jet lag every weekend

Because it has a significant impact on your family life, social life and your health. When you’re on days doing Mon-Fri and get the weekend off you get a full Satuday and Sunday. When on nights doing Mon-Fri and you get the weekend off you get Sunday as the only full day off. And whilst you get the same number of hours off half of Saturday is spent asleep until dinnertime, Monday you’re just burning time waiting to go work. So effectively you get just one full day off.
especially when in the main you prefer ‘nightwork’ 'cos there’s not as much traffic
That’s replaced by roadworks and diversions, some of them so bad it can take you 4hrs to get to your destination and then 6hrs to get back because there’s full closures on pretty much every motorway and major A road on the way back - doing Erith from Howden for the return journey it wasn’t uncommon for the M25 to have multiple closures on, M25 to M11 northbound to be shut, M11 to be shut, A1 to have multiple closures and multiple closures on the M1 too all on the same night. And there’s still plenty of traffic…go stand on a bridge over the M6 just north of Birmingham around 9-10pm then again a few hours later and you’ll see thousands of lorries. When they do full closures on the motorways it doesn’t take long for queues miles long to build up.

But like I said if you CHOOSE to do night work you should take all that into account-same as trampers choose to tramp even though it affects home life etc.
If nightwork affects you so badly why do it 'cos in my book the extra money was no where near enough to tempt me.
