If I understand correctly,European police forces have access to Swansea’s driver and vehicle data now and have the ability to pursue drivers who are flashed by their speed cameras.Rather a lot of Brit plated cars on the costas have also been clamped as having been in spain several years and show no sign of British ved being paid.I also understand that DVLA doesn’t have the benefit of the same approach as european police forces.I stand open to correction on this.
All across the Malaga Province theres literally hundreds of abandoned cars just dumped on the roadside. Many of these vehicles are just used to get here from the UK and as evidenced by the thick layer of dust/sand have been here a very long time. As you say though, theres plenty being used with no ITV or ins but the Police seem to be clamping down on this recently in quite a big way.
Ref docs, wherever i go i always keep with me all relevant documentation for the truck, makes things much easier on you if stopped. Re DVLA. i too dont think they access to Euro reg vehicles…
Someone in our village got pulled by the police at a control in Velez Malaga, all the policed did to check their car to see if it was taxed , MoT,d or insured was to use their mobile phones to go onto the askmid and DVLA vehicle check site . Unfortunatly for the driver it hade none .

I wouldn’t have used the word “unfortunately”. To my mind that implies a little bad luck, as opposed to someone “taking a chance”, at the least.
