most of the ways they get into/onto vehicles have been highlighted…i am fortunate enough that i rarely use Calais, but instead Caen, Dieppe, Cherbourg, etc which isnt foolproof as they too are moving further along the coast, all i can do as a driver is cord up, then i hook a padlock through the ends, and then lock that padlock to the door handles, do security checks en route as and when i stop and thats all i can do. UKBA did tell me that immigrants are also changing vehicles whilst on the ferry, i cant understand why, as we all know once landed, theyre home and dry, and i am surprised at the amount of foreign trucks who dont bother to cord up at all or even put a lock on the back doors, and yet whilsrt having a break waiting for my ferry, the french banged on my door in the early hours, insisted i open the doors, and they saw i had corded and padlocked, yet left the french ones alone who had absolutely no security whatsoever, and when i complained and got into an argument with them, they threatened to arrest me and ban me from the port forever, even holding my passport until i had been called forward to board, and i had to chase after them to retrieve it, and refused to hand it back until i had apologised.

I saw a recent report where they cut through the roof of the trailer to get it. These are desperate people and will try nearly anything.
If it’s a Euroliner (canvas roof) it’s easy to get in…as I once found out.
At least they ■■■■■■ in bottles instead of all over my trailer floor.
i was walking back to the truck near pidou 3 years ago and got confronted by 1 that immediately turned out to be 5 of them to let them into the fridge as i had kinda caught them opening the doors of it anyway… i let them climb in and let another 2 that appeared close it all up again and watched them disappear all smiles and full of the joys of spring, then walked away back to my own truck as ive no idea whos truck i had let them into, other than it was on hungarian plates.i wasnt up for a debate on a 5 against 1 basis so it seemed easier to go with the flow.i waited a wee while then i watched johnny flipflop drive away happily heading for the corridor with his beer and chilled takeaway…( i would have told him if he was heading to the port as i would have been behind him anyway) no doubt they were none too pleased wherever 4-5 hours toodling took the flipflop before his break.however, alls well that ends well
Cutting holes in the roof was a favourite, when we used to recieve Breda trailers a fair few of them had been converted in convertables

Maybe if we stopped turning their countries into a wasteland by drones, bombs and shells they might ,just might want to stay at home with their loved ones.
No one is bombing Eritrea and Sudan Their countries issues are not for us to put right and nor should we welcome them here, whilst people traffickers make millions of pounds from them by providing boats for them to sail to Italy or Spain, and even once they reach Europe they aren’t content they want to come to england, why , because we are a soft touch, handouts, housing, free health care , that is what the are seeking and it will bankrupt us , if the government can cut handouts to its own born and bred citizens then it should cut who it helps from outside here, as the saying goes there’s no room at the in
