hey all i passed my modual 4 this week 95% mark so i was real happy with that, the questions i was asked were
1, You are about to make a long journey in this vehicle. Show me what checks you would make to this vehicle’s fuel system and explain what precautions you should take to ensure it remains in a serviceable condition, especially in very cold weather conditions.
2, On entering your vehicle for the first time, show me all of the practical and visual safety checks you would make before starting the engine, which I would like you to do.
3, You’ve had a comfort break just before boarding a cross channel ferry. Show me what checks you would make to this vehicle before driving through customs.
4, Show me how you would enter the vehicle safely, and then show me all of the precautions you would take before starting the engine. b) You are now parked on the left on a busy main road. Please show me how you would leave your vehicle safely.
5, From the driver’s seat and externally, show me and explain the daily safety check you would make to this vehicle before driving on the road
I dropped 5% on the question number 5 because I did not correctly identifiey the long vehical reflectors, i called them just reflective markers and he marked me down for it, so that is one for people to look out for it.
Just passed this. He said I got 95% but it says 100% on the check sheet. That Flair Training PDF file was a huge help, I’d probably have failed without it. I did have a 4 hour training course as part of my driving course but that was 2 months ago and it’s easy to forget.
The mistake I kept making was telling instead of showing and telling. He said it happens a lot. Best advice I can give is never to tell him anything unless you’re doing it at the same time. It’s easy to forget in the heat of the moment. The person before me failed, didn’t catch what on though.
got my mod 4 cpc this coming friday morning (4th feb). i have been revising with the pdf file that is on this site which is a huge help. been told by the company im training with that i get a 2 hour training session before hand. is it an easy test to pass? i have also been told by my trainer that i will be given a book with the answers in and am aloud to use this on my test to prompt me. is this true?? any help greatly appreciated. i need to pass this as i have passed all other 3 modules first time and if i do pass this one, first time i get £299 back from my training company. So when I do the Theory & HPT do I need to do the CPC Module 2 at the same time? Is it included with the normal theory/hpt or do I need to book/pay/ extra?

Depending how you’ve gone about things really.
If you are doing things yourself then you can decide what you want to do all 3 theory tests can be booked separately or you can do the Multiple choice and Hazard perception together and then your CPC module 2 late on in your training, after you have done some physical driving of a lorry. Or you can do all 3 on the same day.
I did Multiple Choice and Hazard Perception together then waited until after my Cat C test was done to do my Module 2.
Thanks for that. I already have ‘acquired rights’ on my cpc card for HGV until 2014 or so so need to do it before then I suppose. Can I work using the card and credentials I currently have after passing my practical test? TIA
