if you look at the livery of the Daf it stands comparison to the pic of the Bison I posted last night. Certain the Bison is ex Hov.

it was taken at the barbican centre in london behind the bank of england delivering washed granite for the foundations 1966
the photo was taken by the late reg hoggar the young lad in the cab was a 15 years old steve hoggar to who the photo came from

I don’t think it’s as old as I first thought, Nigel. I’m pretty sure it’s an early Weatherill, and apparently they were first made in 1950, so given it’s well-worn state this might be from about 1955.
An enquiry on the Classic Machinery forum has enlightened me a bit; the machine is in fact a Muir-Hill 45.

Ah the famous wagon and pup which worked from Dene! Regular trips to Birmingham depots with black, and sometimes the trailer was"accidently" left down there so the driver could get another load back down to collect it ha ha!

I believe this operated from Dene but I’m unsure of the location of the shot. I seem to think it may be the road between Wirksworth and Ashbourne.
I took this photo in a layby at the top of stanage just of the Matlock Chesterfild Rd. I was loaded with 10 mil for the Topmix depot I drove this wagon and drag when it was three month old for the nExst three years Percy drove it new for the first three month when I left to work abroad Ronny Prince took over then Chris Cook it was sold on shortly after about four month after
