Hookways coaches goes bust

sad day for the 70 employee’s

Having been made redundant three times in the last 10 years my thoughts go out to all who face an uncertain future. Almost the entire western world is in a mess right now, tough times for a lot of us.

worked for them for a couple of years driving and doing odd jobs in the workshop. i left about 5 months ago to work closer to where i live. i know a lot of the employees and they are gutted.

We work out of Exeter…Not a lot doing if the drivers are looking for work. Hope it ain’t an omen! :open_mouth: :frowning:

just found out the north devon drivers they took on from first bus to do the national express 502 and 339 service really stabbed the company in the back on friday.

when they heard the company had gone down they went into the company who now does the contract, left the hookways motors there and brought the next ones back with them. i always thought they were a bunch of slimy, work-shy backstabbing ZB’S. only in it for themselves.

the coaches they are now using on the service. they abandoned the hookways motors and picked the ones up off their new bosses.

your sources are WRONG , they run the 330 nottingham to penzance (badly in my opinion, which i am entitled to, having worked with them for quite a long time)

it doesn’t help they were made to get rubbish coaches and don’t have a single decent standby vehicle.
