And this one is not strictly a home-made one but you wouldn’t get me in it. I’ve seen how quickly those old cab-mounted top sleepers evaporate if they catch alight.

These Renault “G” with a “dovecot” bunk were only operated by big fleets and reputed for their lack of comfort. Some of them even had their cab shortened to allow a longer trailor, staying in the overall max lenght allowed. Built to provide benefit to their owners, not comfort to their drivers!

Dovecot is a good description. I drove a couple of different MAN drawbar outfits with those on international work. Horrible!

you can still get geezers into them ,this loading here today for germany , german outfit , polish reg, and a 4 potter engine, nice outfit, till you get to the front .

Your excellent training is showing!
But, I wonder if a fourth would be too heavy?
Only 8 stud wheels on that Merc, and it won`t be light empty, I reckon.

Looks like a caravan transporter. If it had been built to carry smaller, heavier loads, I guess it would have had a proper cab, an 18t chassis and 6 cylinders.

Its a 1324 atego, so 13gvw and i’d guess around the 28 tonne gtw, the dumpers are 2500 kgs each, the body got hydraulic lifting platforms, so it aint light. Not sure what they bring over my guess motor homes, or tourers. They do send in actros’s mostly drawbars. Cant be used as a solo really, its got the curved rear end the matches the concave front of the trailer. Cant remember the body builder looks like a rolfo but i’m not sure, they’ll be in again next week, got a 2 drop load to go.

The Swiss certainly knew how to take the ■■■■■ I believe this one did M/E too!

There were a few very tall Turbostar roofs around:

Then there was the much more commonplace bespoke one built by Estepe in Holland and called the ‘Europalace’:

The last one looks very neat; couldn’t it be an option offered by Iveco?

I don’t think so; and none that I am aware of. Those Estepe tops were popular in Holland and there are plenty of pics of Turbostars with them to support that. Elsewhere, there were a few Hatcher conversions and home-brew jobs. It was the advent of the Eurotech/star that ushered in Iveco’s commitment to high-roof sleepers.
