Holyhead port shut until 15 jan

As tile says really. Heard on BBC this morning repairs due to storm damage taking longer than expected will now reopen 15th Jan. But as it’s the UK (well technically Wales) be a good bet will take longer than that to be sorrted

My first Irish trip was from there when the world was (very) young. I backed up to the fence on a slight slope to sleep before the morning sailing and during the night I felt a bit of a shudder. Pulling back the curtains I saw the rear corner of another trailer hard up against the front of my motor. Only grundified I leapt out of the cab in anger to remonstrate with the offending driver, but before I could get to him I glanced back and saw that the fence was much further back from the rear of my trailer than I had parked it. :astonished:

Somehow during the night I had knocked the rather delicate handle of the handbrake, releasing it to allow my wagon to creep gently down the slope. The other bloke never felt a thing and never knew about it because I shamefacedly climbed back behind the wheel and reversed to the fence again, but leaving it in reverse as well as making sure of the brake before returning to slumberland..

I bet in your dreams it wasn’t the handbrake you were releasing!

The conditions are a bit lively getting over from Cainryan this weekend.
