I’m sure I read a few months ago that close brothers had won there case with the traffic commissioner for supplying vehicles with operators disc. Has anyone else known another firm to do this??
No need for all the “it’s totally illegal” brigade, the title was just to get you in here, I’m talking of how they supplied the hire vehicle, with disc, but it was still in their ‘control’ and they were able to tell you what you could and couldn’t do and not left to your own devices?
Anyone know anything? If my license takes any longer I may have to form a ‘partnership’ to get mobile? Anyone else any experience of really long applications?
The better way is to contact your case handler over the phone and ask if every thing is ok usually there will be a few queries which you can answer via email to get things moving .
Already contacted case worker.

When did your application go in?
If a holding company is applying for an
operator’s licence, it can include the vehicles
of any named subsidiary of which it owns more
than 50%.
If a licence is granted in the name of a holding
company and that company later acquires a
subsidiary, the subsidiary’s vehicles can be
added to the holding company’s licence.
Adding these vehicles to the licence may
involve a change in the holding company’s
licence and the Central Licensing Office
should be contacted for advice. An application
will have to be made to a traffic commissioner,
using form GV81, if an increase in authorisation
is needed to accommodate these vehicles.

Thanks Dave, I know all that, but What’s the relevance?

Could you not be a subsidiary on your Brothers licence ?
Cheers Dave.
Ah- I see your point now Dave, I may need a brother from another mother - I’m not wanting to push the interpretation of licence holder, just work within the rules wording, so hopefully someone will see the usefulness of a what i can bring to the table -it’s just finding them

Don’t hesitate to ask if you need to open a Nottingham “branch” anytime soon
Exactly 8 weeks ours took, and that was with some questions on where the invested money into the Ltd co came from and all that, money laundering etc!
Application posted 4th June 15 Licence granted 30th July, quicker than I thought tbh.
