Seen Hino trucks around on the same year 2007 badged differently . 3241 and 3213. Now 3241 is I think a 32 ton truck with a 410hp engine ? however the 3213 is probably still a 32 tonner but can’t be a 130 so whats the deal.
Thanks
Someone put the numbers back to front? I’ve never seen a 3213 so perhaps the numbers did fall off, accoding to local Hino drivers around here, it’s not the only bits to fall off
The company I work for here in Co Cork run a few of the 700 series Hinos. The first of the 700 s introduced in 2005 were badged 3213, 32 tonnes but had 410hp engines. The 3241 were the euro 4 engined model introduced in mid to late 2007 but still had 32 tonnes G.V.W and 410 hp. Slight differences between the two are the fitting of the rectangular wide angle mirror over the windscreen and the fitting of DAF like Mekra mirrors on the sides and of course the euro 4. Ive found them to be an extremely manouverable truck on sites with a great unobstructed view all roung and they pull extremely well too.
I’ve never driven one but sat in an ODs’ truck and also a demonstrator we had, and I liked the layout and driving position. The demo’ was an embarassment; seat was torn, switches broken amongst other things…not a great impression…we bought an MAN
With my crowd it involves swapping trucks around and the hinos have stood up to the test. They dont have the prestige of the volvo or scania but ive always found these clostrophobic and the view out of the hino when manouvering beats them hands down. The seating position is high up over the dash which i like.
Thanks fellas , since my first post I have had closer experience with the 700 Hino. I would say that they are good in the mud, not too bad on squirt , reasonable power , good cab comforts but crazy on parts . I have a 2006 Volvo which I have come to love despite hating it at first but think the Hino 700 is a great owner drivers motor apart from the cost of parts . I have answered my own original question but for anyone looking I would give them a 7 or 8 out of ten .
Thanks for the input.
Anyone know if they’re still being sold? I haven’t seen a new one in ages…Re parts; I’ve heard from operators around here that “they sell you the truck, but forget to sell the parts”…

They sold about 100 in the 1st 9 months of the year according to this months Trucking.
Parts are ok to get hold of. My fitter keeps a stock of service items as there are 4 or 5 in the immediate vicinity that he looks after. Other bits can be awkward, although there is a place in Liverpool we use and one in Brum if needs be. They are pricey but I haven’t had too many (touch wood) so I can’t complain.
The first of the 700 were badged with the design gross weight followed by the engine capacity, so a 3213 was a 32 tonner with a 13 litre engine, at the first minor facelift this was changed to the gross weight followed by engine power, as per Mercedes.
Hmmm… dont like them at all, they must be built for japs cos they are the most uncomfortable thing ive ever drove apart from a bedford tl.
And the indicators/wipers are on the wrong side as well, need swapping round.

Ah so thats where the 13 comes into it. Cheers.
