Cost of living there will wipe out any extra money you can charge, think £500 a month for a ROOM in a shared house, parking your car will be a nightmare and cost you money even outside your own house in many places. Midlands, especially around Northampton/DIRFT area is good paying and housing costs are far lower. Its also only around 30-40 minutes away from the M25.

My area of Bristol has loads of work and there is still some cheap housing within 30 minutes drive.

Nope, you’re wide of the mark there. Rates are on a par with most other places and the area is possibly the hottest property market in the country at present.
