HGV 2 Entitlement

Hi i have had a HGV class 2 licence for 40yrs all though i dont use it alot ive kept it up to date including medicals, my question is as i have a cab and drag entitlement and have been informed that cab and drag is HGV 1 ,where does that leave me as i am in the process of driving again .Thanks .Tony

Look at the back of your licence, find C+E, follow the row along to column 12, does it state 102? If so you’re limited to drawbar trailers and can’t drive an artic.

When you say “cab and drag” what is the licence category listed as?

From memory, with a category C licence (HGV 2) you can drive a cat C1+E which looks like a cab and drag on your licence.

Yes, no artics for you, you’re restricted to wag and drag/drawbar trailers

You just have to take and pass a class 1 (HGV category C+E) test.

Plus getting a DCPC if you are not current.

How much training will you need? Get a test drive with a school.
Tell us your area and ask for recommendations, and avoid the brokers.
