Help with a price please..... transport costs

I am deciding to a move to South Wales in the coming months or late this year and need to be looking on a budget… so will be eyeing up some land but I will need to get hold of a static caravan to live in till the build is done.

I have eyed up a few on ebay in which as buyer I would have to arrange pickup and delivery of the caravan from the seller to be deliverd to a field somewhere near the end of the M4 in wales.

As a ball park figure for budget reason… how much on haulage costs would this task set me back? Hiring a class 2 truck and doing it myself is not a option :slight_smile:

For example - one example on ebay there is one in North Wales for £1.35 per mile each way for 10 foot caravans,12 foot £1.65 per mile each way with a minimum delivery charge of £125 - would this be the “going” rate?

buy 1 from a used dealer who will deliver or look more in the area you intend to site it someones bound to be selling one round here somewhere…
Or what about a big twin axle tourer if your cars upto it you can tow it yourself for the price of having a towbar fitted (if your car doesnt have one already)
As for prices of transporting statics …sorry no idea

Why not ring some holiday parks in South Wales, they must sell off statics and they would know who delivers them

I have a mate in the trade - I’ll ask him xlthunter.
Assuming you are coming somewhere near here, I would have said you could find a static around here chaper than bringing one in.

When i can 2moz i will give the inlaws a call she has a caravan site in port eynonn south wales, she is always getting rid of old caravans or always knowing of some one.

I will let you no as soon as i can get hold of her
