My cruise control has stopped working on my 53 plate fh any one had the same issue■■?
Can’t find anything out in my operators manual
Sometimes it won’t work because the truck did not complete
it’s checks when started.
Hold your foot on the brake pedal and listen to the abs popping
with the ignition on when it stops fire her up.
If it’s just not working at all then Im out of my depth Im afraid.
Had it the other day, ‘check trailer brake lights’ warning came on. Anyway cleared it using ESC button on stalk but it came on again so pressed brake pedal whilst ignition on and it cleared and CC was back to normal when I started enigine and set off.
Did drive 50 miles without it wondering whether I should get a fitter out as it was most annoying…
Oh for the pedants I did of course physically check the trailer brake lights doing my usual push brush handle up the brake pedal technique then walking all the way to the back of the vehicle, then running to the front as I wasn’t sure if i’d put the handbrake on…
Tried both these things chaps,
Thing is iv lost my exhaust brake as well so I’m wondering if it’s linked
Have you tried isolating the battery and turning it on again

That could work, then we are in fuse box territory, then I’m out of me depth.
I’ve found the problem

53 plate fh
They’d not long invented the wheel when that was built.

Just tried this and no joy
Think it’s fuse related but can’t find a fuse that corresponds to it
Think we will have to try and get it booked in,still no joy and iv given up now
try the double lock trick to kill All the electrics, it may reset…
and, you wont be able to use cc if there is an abs fault either…
(might come under hibernate in the manual.)

Almost definitely related, I know the cruise won’t work if the exhaust brake is in any of the ‘on’ positions, take cowling off steering wheel and try disconnecting the exhaust brake lever plug.

How do you do this■■?
If it shows faults on dash it wont work if enginr brake not working needs a electrician to onvrstigate
CAN system does a self check if you got a brake light bulb out it will disable the cruise control.

Shows no faults at all on dash
