Hi guys,
This is total long shot, and hope im in the right place to post this.
I just did delivery of furniture to spain for the boss, Mojacar to be exact, my boss has a place there, and the furniture
was for his villa,
Anyway to cut long story short, amougnst furniture was his new bar be cue, with english regulator, He went to try and get gas bottle
for spain, but they wanted him to take out a contract, after researching abit, the regulations seem to have been droped and you can now buy these in repsol and cespa petrol stations, with a spanish regulator being bought from a hardwear store.
Can anyone help me with advice, as he wants another delivery over there next year, even tho he still goes over every six weeks, i would like to get the all expenses paid job again lol. pretty sure i got it, but helping him out goes along way.
I was told that the bottle could be got from petrol station for around 20 euros hire plus about 10 euros for the gas, then its just an exchange as we do in uk after that,
Asked me Dad, who lives in Spain and he tells me a gas regulator is about 11.00 euros and officially you need a contract to get the first bottle about 30 to 50 euros ( you cant buy one unless you have an empty one ) look in the small ads there’s always some for sale cheap, after that you can top them up for 10-15 euros
Ive got a house in a small village in Spain. When we bought the house years ago there was an old gas bottle in it. We were told to leave it outside the door on a Thursday night when it was empty. 0730 on Friday, bang on the door, open`d the door, nice new shiney full gas bottle and the Repsol man with his hand out for 10 Euros. EASY.
I moved away from Spain 3 years ago and then the regulators were available everywhere, bricolages (diy shops) to Carrefour (Other major shops apply).
The contract will be with your gas supplier. Repsol provide the orange bottles at various sizes, or you can go to their garages and get a bombilla (little spherical bottle with plastic around it so you can carry it poss round 15 kilos). You have to pay a pretty big fee for the first one (and may have to have an inspection or prove you have just bought an approved gas appliance) but it then works on an exchange system bring empty back get full one.
If you go to a Rastro or car boot sale you can uasually pick up a gas canister fairly cheap and then use this for exchanges but only the same size bottle .
