Follow signs for Wigan

Yes if its Wincanton for Heinz on Fourmarts road you want Mark H has it about right.

Off at J26 (M58) right under the M6. Left, up hill 100 mts to lights. Right for Wigan. A577. (Ignore Heinz factory sign pointing left).

Follow your nose, steadily, its not over wide, through a short one way section until you come to large traffic island with businesses in the centre of it. Ist exit Robin Park Rd keeping fire station on your left. Pass footie ground on your right. Small roundabout s/o past BP(?) garage.
Look for over rail bridge, take last left just before it. Here: goo.gl/maps/uZT2f Car sales on corner.
Heinz at end of road.

It is not in Wigan

The BP garges is a buliding site at the moment apart from that mark is spot on

Mark didn’t mention the BP garage and (fair enough, working from memory) had the junction number wrong.

If your ever coming out of Wigan from the same industrial estate during the day the big junction near Asda can be a nightmare for traffic.

I recently found a cheeky shortcut through an estate that takes you right round it, bit tight but works a charm  Your back on the motorway in the time it’d take you to even reach the Asda!

The car sales is a Renault Garage by the way. And you can’t come back down that road so you turn right at the junction and then left at the top of the road and it brings you out at the lights.

Wish I’d known that a few years back when I used to be up & down there regular on a saturday afternoon when there were footie matches on .

If you do get lost then it’s off the same road as the DW Stadium which is signed pretty well. If you keep the stadium on your right you will pass the renault garage (that ASDA store is behind you when the stadium is on your right). Keep going as if you are heading away from Wigan (not far) and four marts ind est is signed on your left (the road you turn into is Martland Mill Lane which you could put into your sat nav). When you turn into Martland Mill the gate for heinz is straight down all the way as you follow your nose and straight into the gate. They do have TWO entrances to the site, the other is the one that the HEINZ truck sign from the motorway takes you to, but I’ve only ever been once to that entrance and been let in that way. If you go to that entrance they give you a map to the other entrance which takes you through that housing estate that was mentioned above…!!!

Easiest way is m6 j25, follow signs for Wigan a577, follow for a mile and you will come to a few sets of lights and ASDA store will be to your left, TURN left BEFORE the store so that the store is now on your right (Robin Park Road), follow this road up and across a set or 2 of traffic lights and a small roundabout( there are all retail parks on your right with the DW stadium set back behind them), turn left (signed four marts ind) after Renault Arnold Clark into Martland Mill Lane and follow your nose to the gate !

Its much too late now for the OP anyway. Nice of him to acknowledge though. :unamused:

KD. The HEINZ sign takes you to the factory, NOT the Wincanton operated distribution centre.

If you look at a map here: goo.gl/maps/H3gA9

you’ll note that the first part of your last para above doesn’t make sense. J25 (accessible Northbound only) is A49 not A577 and its a darned site further than a mile from either 25 or 26.

Im glad of this thread because im loading milk powder there in the morning
