Heading for N.Z

I think I know who your talking about, he started out with us originally and then moved to the other outfit as I recall… Heard he married a Chinese Malaysian girl from Miri. At some point in time I hope to make it to Cameron Highlands and Genting. I’ve been to Malacca but it was only for a few hours. We wanted to use the car park on Tesco/Lotus but there was some construction going on so it wasn’t possible. If I’m not mistaken I think there’s a small Portuguese quarter in the old town, where the first explorers from Europe landed (Well, something like that anyway  ). Food is good in most places in Malaysia, their road side cafes aren’t that bad either although some of them may look terrifying to a green westerner  . If you find yourself in the deep south I’d recommend visiting Danga Bay resort in JB, it should be nearly finished by now. If you head out east, Kota Kinabalu is a must. Labuan island is nice too in my opinion. Anyway, hati-hati di jalan ya…

Hi Chris, I went chaloklum for a meal the other day, the weather was,nt very nice but the food was great. I will leave the wakeboarding if you dont mind, Im more of a toe dipper  . I already have a couple of things going on here in Malaysia, so the NZ work would be the cream on top. In fact I could probably manage ok without going to work there, but I fancy a challenge before I decide to quit trucks for good and extra money is always usefull. If you are planning to vist Penang whilst your over here let me know and Im sure I can fit a night on the town into my hectic schedule, if not have cracking time on KPG. Cheers Paul. P.S. Jon the overland trip has been mothballed on account of it not being one of my brighter ideas :open_mouth:

I’ll be there very soon actually. sent you a pm

Hi Chris, let me know when your coming to Penang, if you need some recommendations for guesthouses I can help, my cafe aint open yet, but it is on Chulia st. Its Chinese new year at the moment so everything has stopped for a few days. We can sort out a meet and go for a beer and some food just let me know Cheers Paul

Hi Paul. How’s it going up there with your cafe?? Still decorating?? Right now I’m down in JB, I came over from Singapore yesterday. I had a promising job lined up in West Malaysia/Singapore but it fell through. Sick as a parrot to put it politely but never mind, that’s life. I might go up to Penang tomorrow or the next day, I’m not sure yet as I’m a little short on funds and enthusiasm right now. I’ll be flying home in the next few days so I guess I might as well take a look. If you know of anyone who could rent me a cheap car for a day or two I’d appreciate it. Some fool tried to charge me RM500 for one day (perodua kancil) down here!!! I don’t think so, LAH!!

Hi Duck,
Its all a bit ssssssllllllllooooowwww here after chinese new year, but Im hoping its going to up to top gear this week. I will PM you my contact number. RM500 for a Kancil, what a chancer eh!, give me a ring if you make it up here, I will ask around about car rental. Cheers Paul

Thanks Paul.
I’ve received your contact no. I might fly up or take the bus at the weekend now. Yesterday I was going to book a flight home for Friday when something came up at the last minute. I’ve got an interview for a job at Subang Jaya, so I’ll see how that goes first.

Hey up Paul. I couldn’t make it up to Penang this time. I’m flying back to London tomorrow. I’ll be coming back this way again sometime soon, hope to catch you then. Good luck with the cafe.
