Personally I agree with French drivers’ custom and practice of ‘peeing to the landscape’. In other words, on the grass. The very British habit of ‘cooling the brakes’ on tarmac should definitely be resisted though, as anyone who has walked through a UK service area lorry park will know.

I’ve said all the time, because I often go to some out of the way places.
Not on tarmac car parks and places with toilets.
When fully employed on the road that would have put me in the first group though.
