My grandad had an ex Woodhouse rigid Volvo a good few years ago

A very clean and tidy Alan Thompson Haulage Scania R 480 , as it arrives at Borderway Mart , for the recent
Carlisle & District Vintage Rally & Truck Show.

Cheers , cattle wagon man.

No photos of Freddie Edmondsons fleet,I wonder why.I remember when they moved onto whitelund in the late 70s next to Townson/Sadler Tankers yard which is now Gorys they had a yard full of brand new Mercs must have been 15+ all ready to go on the road.

The more things alter the more they stay the same. They are not very photogenic so I tend to ignore them.

Great photos John, The plank alloy body was a much used type in the old days, Tilcon would alloy tar to be transported on tippers with that type of body fitted, Regards Larry.

Hi Pete, now you’ve said it, i think your right, Wulfrunas was an 8x2 i think. It just looked very alike with that alloy plank body. Be nice when it’s done. Shame the Wulfruna Guy was broken up. Chris.

Thanks for replies gents, body of wulfruna guy was similar but was bigger, two brothers worked for wulfruna, the Tolleys, one drove a d series ford auto bagger the other, the guy,i think wulfrunas leyland comet tipper has survived this was driven all its life by Tony Saunders who sadly passed away 2 years ago,ta,Pete
