You were told right. Innovate’s parent company (Eimskip) got tired of pouring money in and pulled the plug, Innovate went into administration and Stobarts bought most of the remains.
It is all covered pretty well on here in other threads.

Stobart’s have taken the chilled and ambient while Yearsley’s have taken on the frozen.
It looked like not everything was right when Eimskip took them over, so they just wanted shut of them.
