Maybe he should have been flying a Palestinian terrorist organisation flag…he would have been fine.

Are the council saying anything about the flag being that of St George? No.
They are quoted as talking about the height of the flagpole.

It is alleged that council workers said the flag was only allowed on sporting occasions. That is why the report puts that in inverted commas…because they cannot stand it up as a fact.

Since that report is over 5 years old I wonder if it is now resolved happily?

Seems to me that Christians should celebrate their Saints in any way they want.

A good way for the English to join in with the Ethiopians and others in honouring a Greco/Syrian Roman soldier.

Funny how other week lot of English people make a big deal for at Patrick’s day. (Basically an excuse to drink Guinness get drunk)
But come st George’s day it hardly gets a memtion and people don’t bother

Sorry, it’s not , St Georges Day 2025 is Monday 28th April 2025.
Ok, ok, I’m being pedantic because NORMALLY St Georges Day IS the 23rd. It’s all to do with the Easter break. Google it.

What annoys me is that I didn’t know it was st George’s day but I was fully aware of Ramadan. Just shows how truly ■■■■■■ our country is. That’s not being racist it’s just highlighting how our English heritage and traditions are being totally eroded.
How many places do you think will have a Maypole next week? We had mayday celebrations every year once upon a time where I live but not these days.

Sorry try again when i was a child pretty much every village school in the area i grew up hosted an event for may day. Now the biggest one is in munich. Funnily enough the biggest celebration of eid in europe was london.

We have a maypole type celebration up here at Gawthorpe near Ossett,Wakefield.The thing is participants have to run the thick end of a mile with a hundredwight sack of coal on their backs.
