I see the indicators on the motor flash when I’m out loading or something

Ah, that’s actually an indication VOSA are remotely accessing your tacho to see if you have it on break while working. The equipment they use can, and they have not yet fathomed out why, cause the indicators to briefly flash.

Still you must have had it on the correct mode or you would have seen them as well.

thats all well and good coffee but if you was wearing the correct ppe as pictured below you wouldnt even see the indicator flash :stuck_out_tongue:

once on a very tired night dover bound i was driving on the middle lane with no other traffic i saw a police car ahead so i thought i’d better frame myself here… next thing it was completely gone.

another night on my way home from dover i slammed all on, on the motorway thinking traffic was coming towards me, what it was as it was late at night and no lights on the motorway it was traffic coming towards me but there was a bend in the road and it gave the illusion that they were on my side.

the joys of van hotshot work.

im sure i saw a forum flooded by a troll having a hissy fit…but i guess i was hallucinating

No, that did happen, but the moderators dealt with it

I don’t think I have actually reached the point of hallucinating, but I have ended up stopping for breaks after having found I’ve driven for some time without recognising any of the road. Such as not noticing I had actually entered roadworks until reaching the first camera…

There have been other times too that I have been following a truck doing the same speed as me to the point that when he pulled off into services, and I followed. So yeah, perhaps time for a break.

What about the times when you see something normal but your brain thinks it is something else entirely but you can’t remember how you reached that conclusion of what it was in the first place?

Navigation errors often become more obvious when tired as well. On a drive up to Inverness I missed the turn we had to make and it was over an hour before I realised. Well, before it was pointed out to me by the dozing navigator. That was the time we chose to swap driving

Quite a few years ago travelling up the 74 early hours I was following a little red car into a contraflow, now I could see the carrigeway crossed over but this little car carried straight on through a gap in the cones. I cross over onto the opposite side and I’m almost parallel with this car who has now travelled half a mile or so in the vacant coned off carrigeway, he was going a fair rate of knotts and I presume he’s either a roadworker or someone who requires local access to somewhere, I looked down at the speedo, looked up and its nowhere to been seen, no lights, no indicators, vanished !!
This set me thinking for a while did I imagine that??
After tipping in Glasgow and returning south in the daylight I’m back at the contraflow at Beattock and there is a crane lifting a little red micra from a 10ft deep hole that had been built to measure,
no I didn’t imagine that car and I’ve never had any hallucinations.

okay, I will tell you what I was told…and if you have seen them then let me know. No lies please. number one was a white van in front of you which you stood on the brakes to avoid hitting, and the other was a pile of sand. Only what I was told. P.S. after reading some of your comments, I’m convinced all us lorry drivers are ■■■■■■■ bonkers. (except me of course).

oh and the sand had ■■■■ all to do with M/E it was europe.

aye Jessicas dad, that has happened to me seeing lights on wrong side of road. worse when it’s raining. another bugger is when on narrow road and a car comes with their off side head light out and you think ■■■■ me. A11 Thetford I do most nights and it’s a bugger. anyone else come through there and see them wee deer right next to the road? you could put your hand out the pass window and touch them, but they just stand there munching the grass and don’t give a ■■■■ about you.

werent there a thread about this last week or the week before, a 2 or 3 page thread?

No. You’re obviously hallucinating.

M6 2.00am 1990’s. Full scale accident, cars and trucks everywhere fire engines ambulances work lights everything. Done a full emergency stop came to stop and there was nothing.

I end up mistaking signs and lamposts for people also had it when lorry overtakes me on dual carriageway (france) and iv had to slow right down to let them pass as its all i can do to keep my mirrors on, from swaying
Bad really i always pull over after them scenario’s

Not so much hallucinations but more zoning out of what is around me or the road white lines twisting round.

Time for a rest followed by a short walk around the truck. Sometimes an energy spike like coffee or something.

If I’m on my own I’m more likely to stop for an hours sleep or something, especially if travelling solo at night.

I was talking to an old boy driver and one that got him was is he pulling into a layby when on nights to have a quick kip but left the engine running when he woke up he saw a brick wall bang in front of the truck and he grabbed on the steering wheel and slammed on the brakes it scared the ■■■■ out of him for a split second till he realised he was parked up lol
