Had cause to go to Aldi Swindon today

Besides you’re not doing the warehouse staffs job, the staff there have their jobs and they do them. You’re actually doing the job of staff that don’t actually work there to keep costs down. If any of you shop in these places and love the prices you pay this in a nutshell is how they offer you stuff so cheaply.

I would much prefer to unload with an electric pallet truck than go back to roping and sheeting, outside in the depth of winter.

As one of the bend over brigade I have to admit to self tipping at Aldi, to be fair as I was not familiar with the truck I did have a few out of control moments but by 3/4 tipped I was flying about like a pro.

That said full training should be requested if uncomfortable with the situation or just to be arsey.

The woman who showed me just handed me the key and pointed at the buttons, due to a nice bottom I didn’t pay much attention but did sign ‘D Duck’ on the elf and safety form.

I try to take the positives from every situation.
3 hours pay for doing nothing at tesco.
Not boring at Aldi.

Are you sure your a truck driver? That’s a very sunny attitude to have

I do totally agree with you though!

Not really bothered about self tipping as I enjoy the opportunity to get off my arse & walk a bit, but I think they go a bit far when they start threatening to refuse the load if you don’t line the pallets up in product groups & split all the shrink wrap on Coke/tin loads. Don’t have a problem doing that stuff if they ask, but it shouldn’t be expected.

Our job should be to take the load off the trailer and deliver it into the warehouse, anything they want doing with it beyond that shouldn’t be of our concern.

I must admit while I don’t mind tipping it I get a bit awkward when they try to mouth off at pallets not being lined up quite right. I usually play the dumb driver card and call it my little victory.

I never minded doing it. A bit of exercise, then park up outside for an hour’s kip, no problem.

I got told off at Aldi for parking my pallet truck up on yellow chevrons, sitting on the battery box, munching my sarnies, sipping my flask an watching an episode on the iPad.

“Oi! What you doin pal? Those aubergines want to be in row 12, not on the chevrons!”

“Cry me a river ■■■■ knocker. I’m on my 30 min break, Ran out of drive time after moving those spuds to line 4”
