They were ran by my mates dad jimmy towns who retired a couple of years ago his lad stuart is still running a new volvo up to Elgin and back with timber . the john corah book moorlands to Highlands mentioned a puppy that John took to a Trevors driver in Warrington ,stu told me"that was our dog"
I used to load steel for Denmark in British Steel Liverpool rd Warrington , Trevor`s had an old Scania LB80 shunter , nice old chap drove it , they used to load DFDS trailers for us , so we could just swap trailers and go because of the long delays in there.
I recall that after Mr. Trevor had passed away my pal the late Mal Woodhouse Snr got a call to go down to Warrington with a view to buying the business as a going concern so he asked me to accompany him one Sunday morning as flat traffic was not Malc’s forte ! so we went down to have a “butchers” but what we were met with didn’t just seem to “feel right” a few F88’s and trailers but the firm was “dead” from what I recall. Sorry but that’s how I recall the visit. Cheers Bewick.
