I went on line to the Manitoba Insurance website and did the tests to practice, they’re in sets of ten, I did them until I got 10/10 every time and then went for the test, just didn’t do enough of them obviously
Try going on mpi.whatever, there will be a link to the questions and your questions can’t be that different from the ones we have here

As for Mr Duck thats not a bad idea at all but the men in wight coats are probs still running round NZ trying to find you
I scoff at the thought!!!
Those “upside-downy” kiwi mofo’s may well have “tried” to catch me but in reality they stood no chance against an international man of mystery such as myself!!
Straight through passport control in Auckland wearing a Dan Carter signed All Blacks jersey thereby avoiding any suspicious immigration officers!!
Off to Anthony Hopkins’ house now for breakfast, ■■■■ those fava beans are tasty!!..“FFFAFAHFFAHFFHAFFAH”
Just got back from my first lesson and wow man. The crasah box is somehting else and the size of the box is about the size of a mini lol going up the box wasnt to bad apart from instructor said i was speeding up to fast going down the box is something else dont use the brakes use the engine, get down to 1100 rpm little blip of throttle into neautral back upto about 1500 rpm then slide straight into the gear you need keep in mind not to change gear over the railway crossing oppsssss
The length not so much of an issue just gotta get used to not cutting back in to sit on the kerb as you do in Europe ‘just take up the god dam road’ stopped after about 45 mins on gravel roads for a break and wow man this country is just so flat and wide open see as far as the eye can see. O dont say you going for a ‘■■■’ either you get some funny looks Smoke break done after about 10 mins and then everything seemed to slip into place gear changes fairly smooth both up and down the box not manage to cut anyone up and I knew when i did something wrong and screw it up which instructor was pleased to see I was thinking about it bit more.
Got back to the training building and got informed for a first go it wasnt to bad at all didnt miss to many gears and as the morning went on I managed to recover a bit better if I did miss one, so in all not a bad morning even to the extent the instructor has offered to get his daughter to pick me up out to the family palce maybe bit of horse riding and watch while the rope some cattle, be something else I havn’t seen before, everyone here in Lethbridge is friendly and polite people you never seen say ‘hi’ in the street very much a family town.
Glad to hear you’re enjoying yourself,it’s not a bad place to live Only the Prairies that are flat, have a run down the Crowsnest Pass if you want to see some hills.

I been told about the mountains up around BC and over to Vancouver so got that to look forward to yet and on a plus side i passed my air break theory at the 2nd attempt so happy days. If it was the same questions yesterday as today then I probs would have passed then so its just a lottery as to what the computer throws at you. In short IF you are thinking of coming out the study study study is best bit of advise I can give there
In the words of ‘Brookes’ in The Shawshank Redemption “I almost soiled myself” when you talk about ‘This country being so flat’
You are in an area about 3% of Canada and a minute section of the continent you will be driving in, you will soon see that all is not flat
guess I should take my own advise and study a bit more failed knowledge test by 1 point this afternoon but the computer was coming up with questions on school buses and a couple on super B’s which I had noooooo idea on. hey ho thats the crazy cannuks way of thinniking I guess lol

Taffy git… hows that Volvo ?
Should be on the scrap heap. After about 90 mins into the lesson the speedo packs up dances round like its in the club on a saturday night, if got no revs on then the power steering dondt work so try reversing that up on tick over I’ve shocked my instructor and doing pretty good on the gear change now using more the sound of the engine and the feel of the box to change gears now and NO i dont use the clutch lol the length takes a little getting used to with that extra 8ft but I’m getting there got my test on Friday i think so lets get this week out the way. Do I feel ready for it?? yea I dont feel to bad or that my just be my attitude of this thing is not gonna beat me

Better start using the clutch,it’s a requirement for the driving test.
+1
Might look cool floating gears and I’ll admit my left leg has been a bit lazy on the odd occasion but as Flat says I’m pretty sure clutching is part of the test… Also remember doing an exercise where you had to go up the box through every gear and then back down again through every one… Not sure if that was on the test or not though, probably was but these things become blurred over time.

Just got back from my 3rd lesson floated clutch all morning. When i started lessons i asked him about the clutch and he said they teach without the clutch so thats ok for the test even if i touch the clutch apart from to stop or start I get a few choice words thrown my way lol My instructor kinda old school cowboy so if they fail me on test for that I’ll ask for a new instructor and my money back
Right ok got here last tuesday night, today (friday) is the day, driving test day but gotta wait till this afternoon. For those who dont know you gotta pass your PDIC (easy test) log book (easy test) air brake tests both practical and theory (practical easy you WILL NOT fail that one) and knowlegde test which you got to get 25 out of 30 questions right. This includes questions on super B’s and also school bus as well as class one questions and general highway code questions. Once you pass all of the above you then your permit to go ahead with the road test. Normally have a short lesson before hand to blow the cobwebs away then back to gateway for the test itself. The test itself involves backing up dropping and hitching up trailer (done bit different to how it is in the UK) pre trip inspection and ofcourse the road test itself.
well we shall find out in few hours if I’m to be let loose on the roads
Very different to the Manitoba tests, here you do a highway code theory and an air brake theory, then you can do the practical tests. The driving test is split into three components, first up is the pre trip test where you walk the examiner around and show them a pre trip. Then the air brake test, where you show the examiner the complete air brake checking procedure. Once you pass those you are allowed to do the driving test, this is a piece of ■■■■, you do a simple reverse which consists of pulling off of a bay (marked by cones) and backing onto the one next to it, then the on road bit is driving around the block, I think you have to make four left turns and four right turns and that’s it
The only difficult bit is the vehicle you do the test in, not a little puddle jumper like in the UK (I did my UK test in a D series with a single axle 24’ trailer) here I used a 6x4 Kenworth T800 with a 48’ trailer with the wheels right on the arse end
Thats sounds pretty much the same as the test here just in a different order thats all lol but bit more then 8 corners lol
But hey good news its offical I can go and terroize the residents of USA and Canada I just passed my class 1 happy days.
