Check their reviews ? I think they say it all, As for being about 50 plus years , I started in 1972 with a Dodge K1050 handballing bricks On and OFF often doing self unloading. I had plenty luck at the time, but most of it was bad.

O licences are generally revoked as soon as a haulier goes bump, so i just wondered what the committee thought on this?

Heās one of these new breed of journalists - āauditorsā. Some do create the odd interesting video, if they happen to be some place youāre interested in and donāt go out their way to cause confrontation, but most of them are just trouble makers (as above). When they visit somewhere who has clearly being briefed on auditor visits, you can hear the dissapointment in their voice when they donāt get the rise they want!
Another favourite of theirs is to talk down to the staff who come to them:
āYeah, no problem videoing outside here mate, just take care with the trucks turning in at the junctionā
āI can manage not to get hit by a truck thanks, I donāt need you to tell meā (who if they werenāt told, in the event of getting knocked down, will do a Youtube short from their hospital bed on how the company is irresponsible and failed to ensure their safety)

I do get what you are saying itās not always the hauliers fault ( ie companies going bust on you ) i was lucky it never happened to me.
At the time my main customer would not have cheapskates doing their work, John Brooks ā¢ theory was if you are cheap you cannot do it properly .
But when companies go round undercutting the rate to get the work I have NO sympathy for them when they go Tits Up ? Where did Half Price Haulage get that motto from lol They are not alone as you may well know ,to many large companies to mention but i can as i have come across them in my time, not only Green though? Blue / Brown / Red / Red was French now White came in to do all the work at Aston & Full Aylesbury, Aylesbury to Preston paid Ā£ 500 at the time ,Ā£275 but could only do it if they could get a back load, How do i know had a phone call one day asking me to cover it as no back load available so could not do it , Me yes of course i can, Them for Ā£275 , Me F/O can do it for Ā£ 600 , phone call later the Strangler is going to cover it thanks lol, Thatās what you are up against Thickos operating vehicles, expecting drivers to do 15hr days and 9 hr breaks ffs, then wonder why know one wants to work for them ? crying thereās a driver shortage, when the real truth is they are not worth a W==K. Another thing why do you need trackers and cameras in a vehicle to check on the driver ffs again because they are operated by ā ā ā ā Heads. if you cannot trust the man behind the wheel maybe you should not have employed him in the first place ? lol.

In my book they reap what they sow, but some drivers are so servile, they just allow themselved to be treated like sh as a matter of routine.
If Iām treated well, or at least like a grown up, Iām the model employee, and I have been, Iāll go that extra mile and then someā¦ to help out whenever I can.
My dilemna presently is I work for a ānot too greatā outfit in terms of how they view their drivers, and some of their policies, BUT I like the actual job of work I do a lot.
Soā¦ me being a complete and utter arse towards them would be counter productive, so I give a full 100% then they can not complain, but nothing else, no favours or bendingā¦
In fact (no details) , I lapsed once, I did do a favour about 2 years ago, which did not end too well, not only did I get no backing, but I even got chucked under the bus by one of themā¦So itās doing my job only, and nowt else these daysā¦I do NOT forget things, ā¦nor people who cross me.
