Hiya Lance…that’s what i said, if john didn’t have one i can’t see anyone having one. it was only him who could have
sorted the problem…any chance of John coming out of retirement and making one just to shut people up.

John
I can’t recall that John Kilingbeck ever had a Big J of any description, actually!
Just had a word with a gent who worked at Guy Motors he assured me there was NEVER a big j that came out the factory with an 8lxb
Thank God for that, Eh Ha Ha Ha, That solves the mystery at last, Regards Larry.

You might just as well jab a pointed stick into a wasps nest Pete,if I was you I’d rush to the air raid shelter as there’s a good chance you’ll be on the receiving end of some heavy flak from those that truly believe there were many, many 240LXB Big J’s built at Fallings Park, well Smith of Maddiston were “reputed” to have run 39 of them or was it 40 !! Cheers Bewick.
Wrong S O M only 4 big Js with 240LXBs

Here we go once again, Ha Ha Ha, I wish someone would put some photographic evidence, For example a close up taken from the rear of A Big J Showing the engine sticking out of the back of the cab which most 8 LXBS Did, Come on there must be somebody out there that can end this Saga, Regards Larry.

hiya,
I worked for a firm that ran vehicles with both 8 pot Gs’ and 220 Rollers inboard,
I drove the “Percy” engined stuff and I couldn’t live with the RRs’ at 32 GVW, so
why would a gaffer go to the extra expense of buying Gardner when he could get
a better performing motor at a cheaper price, and I found there was nothing at
all wrong with either the RRs’ or ■■■■■■■ which I know for a fact that Guy did
prefer to use and push.
thanks harry, long retired.
Couldn’t someone put us all out of our misery and build one?
That’s what I thought too Jazzandy, will somebody please drop an 8pot into an old Big J, even if it’s only for long enough to get a photo of the side profile.

And perhaps I could take the photo to a couple of mates at the Guy motors workers re-union because they can’t recall seeing one either
