GUY Big J 8LXB Tractor Unit

8LXBV8BRIAN:
I like the idea of standardizing the parts re the diffrent size air filters to be carried in stock Dennis
but the two stacks do look better
This set up on a P-reg —/Ak was truly rubbish under the front wheel :unamused: :unamused:  .

The air filter set up on the early Sed Atks was truly diabolical Brian, you wouldn’t believe that the idiots at Sed Atk could make such a ■■■■ up when both the Atki Borderers and the Seddon 32/4 had rear of cab, with stack, mounted air filters. We modified all ours but the ■■■■■■■■■ at Sed Atk would have none of it at first until,of course, the warrenty claims started rolling in for damage to engines as a result of sucking rain water in,then they soon got busy !! Cheers Dennis.

Bewick:
Has anyone ever built one, sold one when new, repaired one,DRIVEN one,or at least seen one or possibly got a photo (side view) showing the 8 potter sticking out the rear of the cab .

Well, seeing as there’s not much “action” on the TN site currently (although that could change in an instant if I were to make a “crass” comment!) and, after all it is the Pantomine season, are we any nearer to the posting of a side view of a Big J fitted with an 8LXB engine “Oh no we aren’t”.It is,after all,the Season of Goodwill to all men, well maybe not to everyone !! Will the silence be deafening,or will the thread be deluged with photos of the “elusive beast” ■■? Pass the “Grouse”,and the ice hic ! Oh! and run the tap a bit for the ice cold water straight out of Thirlmere !! Cheers Dennis.

Some say that the only one left in existence has been bought by someone in Lapland who does international groupage work once a year usually with a load of Reindeer pulling a trailer that doesn’t need wheels because the riendeer are fast enough to make the thing fly.Anyway by all accounts someone oop Norf told him that the last Big J with an 8 LXB in it would still be able to do the job even quicker and he didn’t mind accepting Euros in payment for it.So expect to see the thing crashed into a pub near you when he comes to get his money back. :open_mouth: :smiling_imp:

Well, now then “CF”,at least the Big J with the 8LXB could be relied on to get round all the “little scroats”,now on the “avver 'and Jon” if “CF” ever got the job as Santa (perish the thought !) with his “DD” powered Bedford KM there would be some very disappointed little 'uns, apart from the fact that he would be waking some of the little mites up to give a full"teeth itching" explanation as to how some of the Hi tech toys operated !! So I don’t think he’d get more than 2 or three drops done !!Un-less one of the little “natives” gave him a bunch of “fives” up the “froat” !!! Funny what !! Bewick.

So the story was true then. :open_mouth:

But it’s obvious that whoever it was who flogged the thing made sure that santa only test drove it empty. So it’s not looking good for Bewick’s local when santa finds out it’s ‘reindeer power’ to weight ratio on take off when it’s fully freighted. :smiling_imp:

the picture is original, thats a fact ,the trailors are invicible because they have a secret load.cheers benkku

time to put this on again

It was the Guys that were Invincible, Benkku. The trailers just couldn’t be seen.
