Green polices "might hurt the poor"

Don’t you all realize that getting an old banger through an MOT on emissions - is going to be far harder of any cars that are currently “Ulez compliant” - but not for much longer, I suspect…

"Your old banger is ULEZ compliant " <Mot fail on Emissions, or anything else made-up that’ll ensure as few “compliant vehicles that side-step paying” - don’t remain on the roads>
"Your ordinary car of any age - has no hope of being ULEZ compliant (Gas Guzzler, Diesel, Smokey, 2lt+ Engine, etc) - <Mot pass, as it’s now a money spinner ongoingly for Sadistque Khaaan>

“Compliant” means “Can we screw money out of this Chump? Y/N”

Policymakers are not unaware of these issues from what I’ve read when millions of older polluting cars will still be on public roads after the ICE ban, They’re not going to get an easy ride when the powers that be will be banning the sale of new ICE vehicles with a fraction of their emissions in 2030. 2025 & 2027 will be the key years when more emission standards are implemented. They also want to stop them being sold & exported to countries with less strict emission standards than the EU/UK.

Just as an aside, on currently on holiday in Cyprus and there are many older vehicles on the roads, and the car of choice for all taxi drivers are Mercedes Benz diesels with many late 1990’s W211 E class still in service, and older diesel cars and pickups and 4x4’s are numerous. In the almost 2 weeks here I’ve only seen one EV, one of those fugly BMW SUV things with the hideous great fake grille, and not spotted any EV chargers.

Cyprus are in the EU, but don’t seem to give a ■■■■ about the rules and the EV ‘revolution’ isn’t happening here…

Good luck to them breathing all those diesel particulates.

They and I care not, life won’t be very practical without the diesel engine!

There was life before the diesel engine and there will be life after it. If somethings causing that much damage then we’re better off without. But it’s rich men deciding what things have to be stopped - that’s why they’re concentrating on cars rather than - charging people for flying 50 times a year.

There was indeed life before the diesel engine, horse and cart and then steam wagon and along came the diesel engine which has reigned supreme for what 80 years now for moving heavy freight, what’s next?

Imagine the public outrage - when it becomes apparent that “giving up fossil fuels” does NOT stop the so-called “Climate Emergency” which is just an excuse for the establishment to take ever-more freedoms away from us all…

I wonder what excuses will be used to prevent the Western Public from voting on paper ballots in next year’s cruicial elections on both sides of the atlantic?

Price paid - too high.
No one saved. Was it worth it? - Nope.
Public Anger? Supressed by new lockdown rules?
WHAT “Public” even, - by that point…?

Am still awaiting the coming stories of “Water Contamination” and the epidemics that go with it…
Also, the rather increased amount of debris that seems to be falling out of space at us…
My theory is that some object made up of toxic elements like “heavy Metals” will fall into a freshwater lake somewhere, and we’ll slowly but surely see a filter out into the general population via local produce to that area, especially Vegetables rather than Fruit I suspect…

Slogan Exchange needed:
“Is your journey really necessary?”
needs to become:
“Do you really want to buy that Osmium-Contaminated Turnip from Turkey?”

Looks like the much vaunted e-fuels/synthetic fuels to get around the 2035 ICE ban is dying a death in Europe particular the German government who has failed to get any meaningful investors onboard since Brussels said e-fuels would have to be manufactured 100% renewable & even the tanker trucks transporting the e-fuels to the forecourts would be required to be 100% carbon neutral :open_mouth: youtube.com/watch?v=LJ81ZVSFxhY

Lack of cheap electricity - will make more and more of the public poorer over time.

By this point, it is quite clear there are no supply issues as we’ve been led to believe WOULD be the case.

It’s all about price conditioning us to pay more for everything.

As we tighten our belts however, I predict that we’ll now see entire industries disappear outright - that were formerlly patronized by the public, who can now “cut that unnecessary expense out” - just to make the rent/mortgage next month, let alone put food on the table…
