Great Yarmouth parking

Got a drop about 6 mile off Great Yarmouth in the morning and was wandering of any decent spots in Great Yarmouth to park? Had a look on hgvparking.com and it says you can park on Sandown Road? Can you park on there with an artic and is it an ok spot? Thanks.

Looking on Google maps seems big enough for several artics, apparently has space for 100 coaches and lorries. Don’t know much more about it, I thought it did have showers, but that was many years ago and you are a stones throw from the beach, so you can go and have paddle.

Used to park on there years ago,it was ok,but with new rules and regs Councils come out with things may have changed

Hi yes there is parking on sandown rd ( paid ) short walk to morrisons usual fast foods etc liesure center on sea front £4.40 for shower if i remember right

South denes road right over bridge few places down there to park 5 mins from pleasure beach and pubs. There is a factory on right opposite a off shore yard parked on that a few times

I always park near tesco. Go right off the roundabout, keep the retail park on your left, to the end and there’s some waste ground past rth lubers yard. Nice and quiet and 5 mins walk to the retail park.

There is a coach and lorry park @ sandown road. Its £10 parking. COINS only. Unless the card machine is working. Chinese/shower and toliets on site.

Sainsburys 2 min walk and a few pubs.

Just checked website and its now £11.50. It says its 12hour max but its not enforced. Very friendly parking attendant. Good spot.

I just had a look on street view, and Daves cafes has gone :open_mouth: and more importantly the giant ice cream cone that used to have a cup of tea ordered for it has gone too. I had to look on street veiw because I couldn’t remember what the name of that road was, wanted to check if it was the one we used frequent regularly all those years ago. Lasagive, or 12" pizza’s , and a brew for Mr wippy. Nicking the sandwich board from the street and holding it hostage to the next day, you really were a child Muckles  , Dave took to escorting us of the premises, to ensure that his street furniture remained in place. Ronald not being able to handle a 12" pizza, but ploughing through it so as to not allow the vultures to have it, that might have been me and “donk” :sunglasses:, then complaining of indigestion, but you cant back down in the face of the vltures  . It is true, that there is not as much humour n the job, or after the job, as once there used to be.

Ah! yes some good times. I did wonder if the Parking attendant Truckerjimbo mentioned was the same one that was there when we used to park there?

Sadly like a lot of seaside towns that have seen better days, Yarmouth is where they house the dregs of society. Me and Eddie used to work out of there over 20 years ago, even for the time, we had basic trucks, we were doing tilt work, but we worked with a good bunch and for a boss who left us alone to get on with it, and we did have some good times.

The Sceptre and then the Gallon Can used to be our ‘office’.

St Nicholas Rd, turn left past Sainsburys. Dead end road but room to turn in the entrance to the builder’s yard. Free, and a good few pubs and takeaways (along with the Sainsburys, obviously, if you need a shop) within a short walk.
