Bit of a pointless post
Come on the suspence is killing me. Being from Grangemooth I’m interested to here this one.
WINKERS ONLY WEEK
or something like that second letter might be an A

Duncan Adam’s gone bust this afternoon
i would say john mitchell is grangemouths biggest haulier. and if dunky adams has gone bust he certainly is now.
Duncan Adams are done out of the game. The money and the amount of trucks wrote off in the past year and claims have caught up with them so doors closed.

Blimey and 6ylt has missed it.
Plenty large hauliers in Grangemouth and central Scotland to take over the work i’d say. Maybe Stobart will set up in Grangemouth now.
Been told Curries are looking into it…
Also, people are trying to say our place is next!!!
Adams seemed not to be as well structured as Mitchell’s. Their gear was scattered all over the dock area at weekends, and the trucks just didn’t look loved,(mind you, neither does mine), so it doesn’t mean you not making money.
Dyce carriers have just moved into a new yard in the docks in order to diversify away from dependence on oil work in Aberdeen so I dare say they could be a contender.
Did Duncan Adams not sell out once before to Currie Line, then bought it back when CL closed?

Their yard looked like a cross between an container storage yard and a scrap yard with pot holes to match

Nothing on the news which is surprising as it is quite a big outfit. But I’ve read a thread on Facebook with some of the drivers wives saying their husbands are out a job.
Also didn’t know Kaye Adams on the radio was Duncan Adams daughter. The things you learn on a Wednesday morning.
More information will be relayed to the drivers today but its not looking good for the ones I spoke too.
Another one gone by the look of it.

Absolutely you had to be careful not to break the suspension and drive it like the Apollo moon buggy. PPE also required scuba gear.
A right crappy place. No great loss, a disgrace to freight transport that yard is/was. Russell’s seem to the only people who actually invest in repairing their yard.
