Mis-understanding / mis-representation thanks to our leaders?
No idea, my uncle was in the forces and my best mate from school went in at 17 and is still in 19yrs later.
I couldn’t do it, no discapline, and I’ll admit it.
I am just gob smacked to why they are hated. There only doing the job we are also doing. There no different to us.
Dont hate them in fact 2 of my best mate are ex forces ( 1 ex RN done 24 years other a member on here to be fair done 22 with the army ) both drivers & been out with both both good drivers both have screwed up
It is my experience that is all that some have an attitude & just because they have ben in forces dont make them good or better than civvy
My dad was also in the forces so was my uncle as a lot of my family dont change a lot
So not anti at all

We all have days like that Mickey tbh, lad at our place has been driving over 40yrs, done all sorts, all over the world, last 12mths has done same jobs day in day out and just before xmas couldn’t get his truck into our yard.I’ve put my truck and trailer into spaces that I didn’t think was even possible, then took 15 shunts to get on the loading area at Thamesport with enough witnesses to make it something I’ll never live down.
Last year went to a place, first in, loading bay blind side on an angle, guy says “it’s a bit awkward mate Ill watch you in” got in first time no probs 
, wondered what all the fuss was about, guy says " That’s the first time I’ve seen that here" Next time the yard was full of witnesses 
…made a right ■■■■ of myself 
took about 10 shunts

I think that would be down to the fact that they have had discipline non stop so when there faced with the real world and knowing that they can do as they please now there going to have this shock attitude to life.

well done on the job pal you will be surprised at the different types of work you can do on boxes i have done anything from rdc to house removals and anything in between
but im sorry to rain on your parade and surprised no one else has told you yet but i would start looking for another job if you have not heard acording to a very reliable source who is like the yoda of the transport world box jockeys are dying out as the evil train takes its hold on taking over the world
