Nice one mate at least your off somewhere warm. Leaving for Fort Worth myself in the morning
Seems as though warmer climes are the order of the day. I’m currently parked in Toms Brook, VA on my way down to tip in Georgia on sunday afternoon and then reload in Florida for Nova Scotia on Monday.
Good miles drive

Nice one driver
There are two parts to Galveston, the one I’ve been to is a dump, full of Chemical works and that, but wire has posted some pics on here of Galveston Beach, that’s the Galveston that Glen Campbell sung about and is about two miles away from where I used to go on a regular basis
Cheers for all your messages…
ill be back on when i get a decent mobile for USA.
Nice one Contract !!!
Tell us about the test when you have time.

The test wasn’t as bad as i thought… I had a ‘chilled out’ examiner who told me i had all the time in the world… and made me do my full pre-trip test.
I took my time on my pretrip, went through the procedure and every now and again the examiner would ask a random question about what i was checking or how i would check something… the pretrip took about 1 hour… possibly more (but we were chatting about other stuff also!) and i kept forgetting my procedure, but i just ‘talked’ my way through it… but i had him getting in and out of the truck every few minutes, cos i had forgotten something… then randomly remembered something else i hadnt checked (I totally forgot to check my number plate light and got marked down for that…doh!) my driving test was a quick drive around Cranbrook, down a steep mountain (Cranbrook is on and is surrounded by mountains!) where i demonstrated the trucks engine brake, not touching the foot brake brake ‘skills’ (More difficult to demonstrate in Alberta cos it’s pretty flat!) and lot’s of Crunching, grating and whirring from the gearbox … I passed at about 4pm on Friday 1st of Feb and by 6pm i was on my way to Edmonton alone to meet another driver there, load my truck for southern Texas and follow him down.
I unloaded last Friday night, reloaded ‘Sucker Rod’ at Tulsa, Oklahoma on Monday just got back to Edmonton today, got tipped and now i’m parked up as close as i can to Tim Hortons restaurant at Claresholm, Alberta so i can use their WiFi (and it works!)
Tomorrow i’m handing in the Lonestar and getting a 2004 Peterbilt 379 Classic with a Cat engine to use for a few weeks because my new truck isn’t ready till march 1st… so will have to move all my gear again
Southern Texas just before i tipped.
loading ‘sucker rod’ at Tulsa
inside the ‘well used’ International Lonestar
You riding side saddle driver

Lol… I’m using an early Peterbilt 359 similar to yours at the moment… and i honestly thought all Pete drivers were ‘dwarfs’ cos i can only just see the top of the drivers head as they pass me… and the ones coming the othe way look like there is no driver at all then you can just make out a pair of eyes between the steering wheel spokes… … is it a ‘fashion’ thing?, are they dwarfs or are their air seats bolloxd…?

Hahaha , meant to look cool with no air in the chair and a 3ft extension to the shifter Looks bloody uncomfortable to me .These are probably the stereotypical guys that come summertime ride their Harleys with "live to ride"emblazoned on the back of their jackets and think that wearing a bandana doesn’t yell knob . Just my opinion
Good to see you’re enjoying your time .
