Got a problem - need advice

wildfire:
the biggest problem is that scania don’t produce or ever have, a 14 ltr 470 engine, the 470 is a straight 6 with high pressure injection system and compond turbo system, so your t cab has to be a 124 if it is a 470 if not then its got to be a 480 :sunglasses: :sunglasses: :sunglasses: :sunglasses:

Dont confuse him anymore, google 143 470 :sunglasses:

Goaty:
We’ve conversed by pm. I told you my thoughts on there.

1, feel free to prove me wrong, OCPC has been required for an OL since at least the 70’s.
End of…

2, I would suggest you put a pic on here of the mythical beast that is the 144-470. I personally think your mates pulling your chain with his badge engineerd V8 470 or youre smoking Mind altering substances.

I will of course put up a pic of my straight 9 foden 670.

have you not seen the red R164 470 from the Southampton area?

and that HAS been photographed

here we go, the mythical beast, not the F12, but the shed parked next to it

   class

mind that Volvo,s nice though, my old man would probably drive that for nothing :stuck_out_tongue:

Admittedly I don’t know much about Scanias but I thought the OP was referring to a 144-470 rather than a 164-470?

the 144 470 t cab does exist - if you’re not sure give mvcommercial a shout cos their boss man has one as his regular drive. the other small 144 is the 144 420 available in both formats cos i nearly bought one last time round from the scanny dealer in haydock. also baylis used 144 420’s.
and the 144 460 was only available for a very limited time and not in t cab format in terms of v8 you’re talking about the 164 480 topline t cab or the 164 580 topline both formats. the 144 470 (54 plate) t cab that i’ve been looking at is in the build shed now ring mvcommercial for more details.

you’re right i do know the difference between a straight 6 and a v8.

the only 144 v8’s i’ve ever seen were cab over and not t cab versions.

H, there is’nt such thing as a 144 470 or a 164 470. As you admit to not knowing much about Scanias, i will let you off!

wildfire:

they did mate, a 143 470. Not as poular as the 420 450 or 500, but they did make 'em, jst not in the 4 series.

Whether there is or is not such a beast, I can’t imagine anything less suitable for the work the OP has in mind.

First rule, specify the vehicle for the work, not just because you get a semi-on looking at a bonneted Scania. If that’s your thing then buy one, polish the wheels and do the show circuit with it. But don’t think you could ever do container work with it, I have done container work before and for at least 25% of the places I took containers to, you wouldn’t even be able to get a T-cab through the gate.

You not seen the bloke who’s got or had the American Volvo the vn?? On boxes red one see him on the m25 a2 a lot. Must be a proper pain in the arse in some places.

Harry Monk:
To be perfectly honest, I am approaching this with an “I love Renault Magnums” rather than an “I have a viable business plan” frame of mind.

It takes all sorts harry, but if it’s working for you, good luck with it. HTH

If your argument depends on you completely fabricating a statement that I didn’t make, then it can’t be very strong, can it?
