I have recently been doing assessment drives in driving schools around Kent. I am currently looking at Gordon Springates for learning to drive Class 2. The main reasons for this is because the staff seemed initially friendly, there is a large off-road area for learning to drive and it’s only a 20 minute drive away. However I want to know if anyone here has trained at Gordon Springates recently, and what their experience was like and what the training was like. When searching online I could see reviews that were posted years ago and not any recent ones.
Cant pass comment but you might want to do a price comparison with ourselves. Current offer is CAT C with free accommodation, fully inclusive of test fee, VAT etc etc AND Mod 4 training and test for just £1260.
I did my Class 1 & 2 with Springates in 2013. Passed both first time. Back then it was manual 18t rigid for the Class 2 and manual artic for Class 1. Don’t know what they have now. They’ve got a good rep and I can highly recommend them. I don’t think they offer any CPC hours though for the training but that may have changed.
Used Springates for my C&E in Jan this year. Company paid for it so had no choice, but was very happy with the training received. Passed first time with no minors in MAN auto. Rigids are DAF 18t manuals as far as I’m aware. Nice big area for reverse practice and all staff seemed very nice.
