:open_mouth: Excellent news Steve! Glad to hear you’re out of trouble and in the clear  . Must be a real weight lifted off your shoulders and I’m not sure I would’ve been able to be so upbeat as you’ve been throughout it all.

TRUCKFEST: :grimacing:

i know at 7 months this has been a long one but for anybody thats still interested, although i still go to the cancer specialists once a month, i’ve now been passed to the chest specialists to see what can be done about my damaged lungs.
i had an appointment with them on saturday morning, and although i was only there 30 minutes its now been confirmed that although i’ve had two CT scans that show my body is repairing my irrepairable lungs, the repair will only be minimal and my lungs are never going to get better, they shouldn’t get worse but they won’t improve much neither.
i told that doc the same as i told the cancer docs, “i can breathe and i can walk, so i’m happy with what i’ve got”.
i learned one thing while i was there though, you can now bow down and worship at the feet of a benchmark
apparently when i was at my worst and in a coma, i was not responding to whatever drugs they were using and i was dying quickly.
my consultant made a decision to try a new combination of drugs, which included two brand new drugs not used in that context by them before.
because it was a complete success( living proof is typing this, and according to the consultant i can count on my fingers and toes how many are alive who’s gone through what i did and are still alive) it has been passed on to all the leukemia specialists around the country and will be used from now on in similar situations until the next batch of drugs proves to be better than what they used on me, so applause to my consultant, because of her many more will survive, she really is a diamond

Sorry to hear they cannot do anything about your lungs.
To answer your question YES always interested, what you had killed my father.
But I didn’t like to mention it before,
Good luck for the future you’ve earnt it.

i’m pleased to announce my constant companion since september has buggered off and left me.

thanks to all for your support, its been fantastic and i’m sure it’s helped me recover faster than i should knowing everyone was urging me on

I`ve only just read your updates steve.

Its hanging to the left steve cos its out of balance
You know the routine steve, blood tests and checks monthly but all clear so far.
Keep smiling

had my monthly check on tuesday
all my counts are now normal seeing as my red count is up to where it should be.
i dont have to report back for 6 weeks this time

nice one

:grimacing: Way to go Steve.
Brilliant news.

excellent

welcome back to the saga
been for my 6 week check up today, it took my consultant 1 minute to tell me all my counts are fine, and that they are 3 times higher than when i first darkened her doorstep last september.
so all that was left to do was spend 15 minutes admiring her shape ( i love summer and low tops) and regaling her about my trip to twycross zoo at the weekend.
the upshot is still no cancer and don’t go back for 8 weeks

i just hope the lung specialist is as good on the 30th.

    Thats great news! You sound like you are back on form.
Good luck on the 30th.
